Hostel Casa Noda

The positives: *Check-in and check-out were about as easy as it gets. I picked up a pouch from the 2F wall and went to my capsule. *The manager and female cleaning staff were friendly *The shower was comfortable *There was a lounge and a terrace; the tables in the lounge were never all occupied at once. I only saw another guest on the terrace once. *There was a feeling of being connected to the street outside that made it very easy to walk to a vending machine any time I wanted a drink. No staff to pass by, no locked doors. I liked that, but... The negatives: *That feeling of connectedness to the street outside? It also meant there was basically zero security; the path from the sidewalk in front of the building to my capsule had no locked doors and no staff presence. *Nowhere to lock my suitcase; I could leave it in a corner in the lounge, which was locked overnight -- that was it, security-wise. *No hotel map meant all I could do was wonder who else I was sharing the one bathroom on my floor with. *Male cleaning staff was inconsiderate and unfriendly. Two of them were friends; one was considerate, until he was with the other one; then they became "inconsiderate, together." *Side-curtain capsules offer VERY LITTLE sense of privacy, I've learned. *The toilet sprayed "slightly below body temperature" water. When it was cold outside, the capsule room and the bathroom were cold. Conclusion: There are private rooms. I'll probably look into them, if I'm in Nagasaki again.

Good arrangement for the check-in. Though there is no lift/elevator, you need to bring up your language by stairs.

The property condition & facilities were below average. Poor quality.

Great location and comfortable enough bed however no curtains or blockout light from the road so was difficult to sleep. Decent for a one night stay though

A nice, small hostel. Unfortunately I found the bed quite uncomfortable due to the worn futon pads. But otherwise, everything was clean and equipped for a short visit.

Super easy location to find, close to Nagasaki Station. About 20 minutes walk to Atomic Bomb museum and Peace Park, and 20 minutes to Gunkanjima Digital Museum. Bed in the mixed dorm was comfortable and had lots of space for baggage storage. Free breakfast consisted of bread/toast with jam as a spread, which was more than sufficient and a delightful treat. Lots of other travellers present in the hostel. Very good vibes. Would 100% stay again.

Very nice accommodation. Close to the subway and shopping area. Full if restaurants. Very nice and comfortable bed. Nice breakfast. Fully satisfied.😃

The three young staff there were friendly and helpful. We had the Superior Room, so we had our own shower and toilet, which was convenient. A mini-fridge in the room would have been nice, though the fridge in the common kitchen was fine. The common area/kitchen was pleasant and clean. A short walk from the main train station and right in front of a tram stop. The one major shortcoming is that there is no elevator -- our room was on the 5th floor, so we struggled to take our luggage all the way up. On the positive side, the staff let us keep our luggage at the hostel for a few hours when the trains were delayed half-a-day due to a typhoon. Overall, a convenient and clean place to stay with friendly and helpful staff.

We usually stay in hotels, but were forced into a last minute 'hostel' decision because of weather issues causing us to stay in Nagasaki for 1 more day. The hostel - for the price - was brilliant. We has a 2 bed room with ensuite. Clean, functional, quiet, good location and value for money are appropriate adjectives. Interesting restaurants are close as is the Train Stn. Host was very welcoming. The stairs were a struggle with bags - but - its a hostel!!

10-15 minutes walk from bus/jr station. There are no lift here, room was clean.

The staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. Location is great, close to JR station, tram stop, bus stop and easy to get downtown. Bunk beds were private with a curtain, charging and reading light.

Near to nagasaki station, less than 10 mins walk. Nearest tram station (Gotomachi) is 2 mins walk. Pretty big dorm rooms with a big washing sink. Only 1 bathroom and 1 toilet per dorm room. Towels are 100 yen, washing machine use is also 100 yen per usage. Dorm beds come with curtains, mini locker and a small reading lamp. No lift, so those with huge luggages might struggle a lil bit. The door to the dorm room is not locked. Only the female-only dorm roon is locked. Mt inasa ropeway ticket (round trip) is sold at 980 yen (NP 1200 yen) here. Reception is open from 8am-8pm. A lot of Japanese stay here.

Considering the stay was a lower budget option, the facility does meet our expectations. The shower room and toilet are relatively roomy compared to most other hostels. The staff is helpful and polite. Check in was a very quick process. Decent location.
