Whoa. This was a real treat. Can't recommend this property enough. Room was incredible and the place is pristine. Views were great. Felt relaxed and welcomed as a guest. The experience was unique and unforgettable.

We really loved this place with incredible people. Breakfast and dinner included and wow, what a surprise with the omakase style service. The room had hot spring water onsen bath. Highly recommended.

Excellent service, private hotspring bath, and multi course dinner. We changed plans to stay an extra night after being so impressed with the first one! Staff was very accommodating.

Our stay at Kuon was elegant and luxurious. The second you walk onto the property, serenity will hit you immediately. From the tea ceremony to the elaborate 10-course dinner to the in-room onsen, this hotel pulls out all the stops. Our biggest highlight was the staff who made sure our needs were met and more. They accommodated our dietary restrictions and curated one of our most special meals on our entire trip. 10/10 would recommend!

The concept and aesthetic is beautiful. However, breakfast and dinner which are included are very difficult, the hotel is in the boondocks with little or no transportation available, they barely speak English, so it feels like you’re stuck in a castle/jail. There’s also a construction going on across the street. My suggestion is have a car rental and specify you want western style meals, otherwise it’ll be a total waste. Our second morning after we had complained, breakfast was catered to us and was much better. They try to please, I wish we would’ve known in advance.

Beautiful boutique hotel, with tea ceremonies and an amazing dinner experience. The staff were very accomodating with my partners gluten allergy. Highly recommend!

This small hotel is an incredibly peaceful oasis. The food offerings were absolutely impeccable! There are no gym facilities but the private onsen is a wonderful way to end your day after touring the surroundings of Hakone. The care and attention from the staff was top notch! Our tea ceremony shortly after arriving was a wonderful way to get introduced to the hotel and the types of tea and wagashi available to us during our stay. Dinner was a different 10 course meal of fine dining every night with the dishes prepared by the staff on the island directly in front of your seating. Drink (alcoholic or not) pairings are given for about 1/2 the dishes too! An open bar after your meal is also a nice way to wind down before bedtime, with locally drinks mixed for you by the bartender. The only drawback to this hotel was that its location leaves you dependent on taking a local bus or finding a local taxi. Taxi service is very inconsistent as there are simply not enough drivers in the area relative to the demand for taxis, especially when it rains! That’s an issue for all hotels in the region. The hotel is about 0.5km away from the bus stop but it’s downhill or uphill depending on which way you are going. It’s only a few hundred meters further to walk directly to the ropeway to start your loop around the key visitor spots in the area.

Friendly staff, great food, large comfortable rooms & a perfect location. The hotel also offers a traditional tea ceremony, breakfasts & 10 course dinners.

Had a really good stay here. The staff especially were super kind and welcoming. They made my stay the best part of the hotel. Food was good as well. A lot of fragrant dishes and prepared pretty uniformly too.

Loved the amazing hospitality we received from all the staff members. The place is clean and quiet, matching its ambiance. The food (both breakfast and dinner), tea ceremony and drinks were incredible and an absolute culinary experience. The onsen in the room was perfect. Couldn't have asked for a better stay. An absolute hidden gem but definitely not going to be hidden for much longer. Looking forward to seeing this hotel flourish.

お部屋は清潔感がありインテリアが素敵で、スタッフの方も皆さん丁寧で気持ちの良い宿泊ができました。 1番驚いたのは食事です。 見た目が綺麗で、旬の食材を楽しめてとても美味しかったです。 ペアリングはお茶のカクテルとワインをいただきました。 強羅駅のタクシー乗り場や、ホテルの周りはタクシーが捕まらないのでGOとUberアプリを利用しました。

Everything exceeded expectations, and my expectations were high The private onzen was wonderful, and the personel and food are beyond great. Would recommend this higher if the rating allowed
