Typical Mercure Hotel
This was a typical Mercure Hotel with everything provided, clean and adequate size and breakfast provided. We stayed here for 2 nights at the end of our trip. The king sized mattress was probably the most comfortable we had in Japan. The staff were very helpful. The location was good for Starbucks and about a 500 metre walk to the Airport bus at Ginza station. We returned to Tokyo from Osaka by Shinkensen and the taxi fare from the Tokyo station was about 2500yen. Good area for high end shopping and department stores. About 20 minute fast walk to Ramen street at Tokyo station. However, we far preferred our 4 night stay in Shinjuku at the beginning of our trip due to easy access to the fun entertainment and cheap and cheerful cafes. If Ginza is your area of choice to stay then this hotel would suit you perfectly.

good hotel and stay
Hotel is conveniently located. Considering overall japanese way the room sizes are just optimum. the breakfast spread at the restaurant is good enough and sufficient. all the shopping places are closeby. tokyo station is close by metro,taxi or even a walk of 10min. be aware that the early check is at charge unless you are Accor member and lucky.

Location & Service But Limited Benefits to Accor Platinum and Gold Member
I stayed with the Mercure Tokyo Ginza for 6-nights between 31 October and 6 November this year. This hotel is in the very convenient location with almost all the international shops of famous brands including big Japanese Department Store there. The Ginza Itchome Metro Station of the Yurokucho Line connects with the basement of the hotel while the Ginza Station is just 5-minute walk from the hotel. It takes you less than 45 minutes from the Heneda International Airport by Monorail (680 Yen) to the Hamamatsucho Station and then by JR (2 stops Hamamatsucho/Shimbashi/Yurokucho). After getting off at the Yurokucho Station, you walk straight for about 3 minutes across 2 traffic lights and see the big Japanese Department Store - Matsuya Ginza. Going further for about another 2 minutes, you will find the Mercure. As far as the hotel service is concerned, I enjoyed my stay with the Mercure. The Reception staff were nice and professional. They were efficient so that checking in and our were smooth and quick. I would like to mention in particular the French Restaurant. I had my dinner there for 4 times during my stay. Not only was the quality food very fresh and delicious but also the excellent service of the staff. Taking this opportunity, I would like to thank the Managers, Romain and Chris as well the Attendant Mr. Florent for taking care of our meals. On the other hand, I hadn't had my breakfast in the hotel restaurant because the size of the restuarant was relatively small so that it was always full after 8 a.m. It was too crowded ! Overall speaking, I am satified with the service of the hotel staff and its location but would like to remind the other ACCOR members in particular the Gold and Platinum Member that you should not expectto receive the Member's benefit as much as the Accor hotels in other countries and as promised by Accor. What you may have is just the welcome drink, late check-out up to 2 p.m. and free internet. No room up-grade like other Accor hotels should be expected. Over the almost 3-year Platinum Membership, this is my only experience.

A forgetable stay
The great location of this hotel is a double edged sword in that it is almost always occupied to full capacity, yet in need of a total refit. We had the misfortune of having to endure 4 room changes in 5 days because of a number of issues including not getting the room type we had booked, extremely bad room odours, smoking in a non smoking floor etc. The staff are extremely sympathetic to the problems of the hotel and can't wait for the renovations to start. From what I hear, staff morale is quite low because they are in the front line of dealing with guests complaints and can only "fix" things as best they can. Wi Fi is hopeless, with frequent interruptions to service, and the trick photography used to "show off" the restaurant area is outstanding. I have been an Accor member for over 30 years and I hate writing a bad review- perhaps we were just unlucky, but for those high ranking Accor executives, please help the kind, sympathetic and caring staff at this incredibly well located hotel of yours. They deserve better and so do your guests.

Unusual for an Accor hotel to have such lousy wifi
Love the location of this hotel...just off The Ginza...fantastic. The rooms are small but quiet & comfortable. The Bathtubs are deep & lovely. The staff friendly, & helpful. BUT, the wifi is terrible. It is strong at times then drops out readily. This has occured on my last 2 trips to this Mercure hotel. Unfortunately the staff seem unable to rectify the situation and the only way to get a stable connection is to sit in the 2nd floor foyer to use wifi. This is at the suggestion of the staff. If you need to Skype or make any wifi call for business, privacy is unavailable. Such a disappointment for a usually well appointed hotel brand as Accor and such inefficiency is really suprizing in Japan.
