NIPPONIA HOTEL Ozu Castle Town

I love the concept of Nipponia & enjoyed staying in anEdo period home. Food was great & staff very friendly & helpful!

Being able to stay in a Japanese traditional small home with ALL modern accessories in a totally walkable castle town without overwhelming crowds is something special. The staff is very accommodating, the included breakfast and optional dinner are excellent. And the several touristic sites, including two villas and gardens, as well as the castle are worth the visit.

This is a super cool hotel with a strong historical vibe. The Oki room had a private courtyard and spacious quarters. There are stairs from the entrance and bathroom to the sleeping area, which I mention in case any reader has difficulty with stairs. The staff was very helpful.

Thoroughly enjoyable stay in a renovated commercial property dating back to at least the first half of1900's, if not earlier. The rooms were very tastefully decorated, which gives it a distinctive Japanese feel, but with all modern amenities. The morning breakfast made from local, seasonal ingredients was del8cious and a great experience in itself. The staff were very friendly and dedicated, and the service was outstanding. All in all, a pleasant time. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Amazing stay we had.

Beautiful accommodation in a lovely town. We stayed in a 2 level Japanese style house with a view of the castle. Very generous free mini bar and lounge with free tea, coffee and alcoholic and soft drinks. Food in the restaurant was top quality. We stayed in winter so the town probably wasn't at it's best but was still lovely to wander around. Stairs very steep in the room and a little precarious getting to the toilet at night. Lots of blower heaters kept everything warm but query environmental footprint. Overall a wonderful place.

Great staff, very friendly. The town was beautiful in the snow. Cozy accommodations. Awesome breakfast. The shuttle to the train never came and we had to pay for a taxi.

Excellent service. The facility is spread out so breakfast is separate from dinner. Dinner was Excellent and creative.

Wir freuten uns bereits auf die renovierten Zimmer/Häuser in Ozu und verbrachten die Nacht im Zimmer Mune. Das Hotelzimmer bzw. die Zimmer waren schön renoviert und sauber. Schönes großes Badezimmer mit großer Zedernbadewanne. Auch das Schlafzimmer war großzügig und stilllistisch schön eingerichtet. Ein Parkplatz in der Nähe wurde kostenlos angeboten und war fußläufig erreichbar. Aufgrund des traditionellen Baustills waren die Decken des Dachgeschosses sehr niedrig und man konnte sich leicht an den Balken den Kopf stoßen. Ein weiteres Manko war die schöne Holzbadewanne. Diese war bereits von Schimmel angegriffen worden und daher an den Kanten schwarz. Ein Punkt der mich ebenfalls störte war, der Eingangsbereich bei dem die Tür sehr schwer auf zu schieben war und ich mir schon einen Notfall ausmalte, bei dem ich Schwierigkeiten hätte die Tür zu öffnen. Auch von außen verloren die renovierten Gebäude schon wieder an Putz (recht sichtbar erkennbar). Wir hatten Frühstück dazu gebucht. Dieses konnte man, nach Angabe eines Timeslots in einem Nebengebäude zu sich nehmen. Dabei handelte es sich um ein traditionell japanisches Frühstück, welches sehr lecker war. Einzig die unruhige, jazzartige, improvisiert klingende Musik, die mehr Flucht als Entspannung verschaffte sowie der Muff in einer der Ecken des Speiseraumes (der auf Ansprache evtl. von den Tatami-Matten ausging), versetzten dem Aufenthalt einen Dämpfer. Wir würden dieses Hotel auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen!

Room are little house made mostly in wood. My room was 2 store. Above big sleeping room with sit place.below tatami room with separate bathroom,toilet and was place.all was very clean.have wifi but no television.back in time. Food iis traditional.breakfast.tradit

コンセプトは素晴らしいと思います。外国人が泊まるイメージがあったけど日本人も楽しめました。違う土地でまた利用したいと思います。

大洲城が目の前で、ライトアップされたお城を眺めながらドリンクを頂けてゆったりした時間を過ごせました。 またヒノキのお風呂も香りが良く快適でした。

Fantastic experience of traditional Japanese lifestyle. It was the best service I've ever received during my many visits to Japan. The room tour was amazing, the food was delicious, and the staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. A bonus was the excellent Club Lounge!

옛날 저택을 개조하여 시설을 개설하여 시골 느낌과 조용한 시골의 정취를 느낄 수 있어 좋았으나 고택을 개조한 관계로 침실과 화장실이 2층과 1층에 분리되어 있고 화장실이 너무 추워 이용하기 불편했다. 겨울에 이용은 추천하지 않음

古民家を改装しレトロな感じ。テレビもなく日常の喧騒から離れ静かな時間を楽しむのに良い。

とにかく宿泊施設が素晴らしかった。 ラウンジも飲み物も楽しめてゆっくりできた。
