Rooms are small but that was expected. Hotel was very good overall, it was very clean, the breakfast buffet was good and the public baths were very modern and uncrowded. The hotel took great pride and there was free broth in the evenings and we had a special sushi roll one night for a national celebration. Centrally located within easy walking distance from the station and the old town, as it is actually on the Nakasendo trail. A good base for the Magome to Tsumago walk.

A bit basic but certainly fulfilled our need of a base for a few nights. In an area where accommodation can be difficult. Had a slight hostel feel. Certainly no frills but with friendly staff and a good selection of breakfast foods.
