Location, location, location. Right next to Kyoto Station giving you easy luggage transfer and access to any train or subway you could want.
Complementary water, tea, and coffee in the room. Wonderful large step-in shower/tub wet room. And a toilet you'll want to take home with you.
The staff is incredibly helpful and attentive.
We did not use the restaurants with all the unique cultural offerings a walk or ride away.

I got in 4 hours before check-in, so I stored my luggage at the station. The man at the front desk suggested that I visit Senso-ji Temple until my room became available at 3 PM. It was a fantastic way to start my Kyoto experience.
When I returned, I was greeted with cold water, which was refreshing for such a warm time of year. I was guided up to my guest room and shown how to operate the technology. The room was immaculate. The shower was amazing, and the towels were high quality.
The fitness center is open 24 hours, which is perfect for relieving any jet lag. The hotel itself is very close to Kyoto Station, which makes it so convenient to see all the sights. I highly recommend staying here.

Beautiful hotel and steps away from the train station but fear not - you will not notice. Take a close look at Google Maps when you depart Kyoto Station and you will see an alley that you can walk through to put you on the street with the hotel. We made the mistake of walking across the street then doubling back when in fact you could make the trek in no time. Staff is incredibly helpful and the breakfast buffet is pretty good. My daughters stayed in the Japanese Suite and I was in a standard king. No complaints about either room. Very easy to get a cab or Uber at the hotel or of course walk back to the train station.

For a hotel that is “luxury,” I would expect more. The television monitors on several of the treadmills in the gym were not working, the dry sauna was only available for men (should only men receive the health benefits of sauna?), the room service was only available at the times in which the restaurants were open (one of the points of room service is the convenience of access to food when restaurants aren’t open). The saving grace of my stay is the convenient location and thorough housekeeping keeping my room impeccable.

I liked everything about The 1000 Kyoto. Right near Kyoto Station, lots of restaurant options close by. Rooms, staff and breakfast wonderful. Always a cab waiting. We had so much fun in Kyoto, and Japan as a whole. Magical.

Really appreciated proximity to the Kyoto train station. Clean room, and attentive staff made for a pleasant 2-night stay. We also had a light dinner at the hotel’s Japanese restaurant. It was relaxing and service was wonderful.

The head concierge met us at the train station to guide us to the hotel. What incredible service. It saved us from fumbling around the very large Kyoto station and made our arrival and check in seamless.
The rooms were very clean and I loved the pajamas and slippers provided in the rooms.
The proximity to the train station made day trips easier and all the shops and restaurants at the station were an added bonus.
I would highly recommend staying at this hotel in Kyoto if possible.
