Tosei Hotel Cocone Kamakura

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The hotel was beautiful, peaceful, unique, and exactly as advertised. We enjoyed champagne by the river, plenty of time in the onsen, and the easy access to nearby hiking trails and the Arashiyama bamboo grove.

Excellent Hotel in very popular Kamakura. The breakfast ,both Japanese and Western, was great.

Most things at this hotel worked out well but I don't think it was as comparable to other 9.2+ ratings I've stayed at. I thought it was more of a 8.8-9.0 ish. Or perhaps Kamakura hotels are just overall less competitive than Tokyo or Kyoto's. While most factors are great - helpful staff, location not far from train station and walkable to shopping areas, clean rooms, public large bathing house, manga available in the lobby, nice night gown and towels in rooms. Some small details are not perfect - the windows only have a paper-like blinder, no black-out curtain, so for sleepers sensitive to light, you'd get woken up by sunlight as soon as the morning gets bright. Sound proofing is also not the best on the floors, I kept hearing people above us walking around the rooms in the morning and at night.

Very clean room and clean hotel all together. Very peaceful. Staff was great and they even gave skin care routines when we arrived. Honestly, this hotel would be perfect if they would just add more clothes washing machines. they only had 2 for the whole hotel, so sometimes you couldn’t get a wash in when it was convenient for you.

Excellent stay with delicious Japanese breakfast. Room typically small but very nice and clean. Spa is small but nice to soak after long day of walking. Location was so convient- 3-4 min walk from Kamakura station. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful location, great breakfast

This is such a nice hotel just down the street from the train station. The rooms were very comfortable, clean and quiet. The location in Kamakura can’t be beat. The staff are all so helpful and welcoming!

There is a public bath pool on site. Yet, not in the list of hotel details, don’t know why! Walk distance from the station, it is convenient!

The hotel is convenient to the train. About a 5 minute walk. Clean and attractive. My only complaints are minor. The bed takes almost all the room from wall to wall, making transiting difficult. And in our room the shower head was broken. We reported this and they acted as if it would be fixed immediately.

Hotel was well located, and comfortable.

Beautiful spacious room for four. Staff was polite and helpful. Free coffee and hot choc machine was nice. Close to many restaurants and sight seeing. .
