Amazing location, close to the train station and shopping district. I didn’t use the on-site onsen, but did go to one down on the beach to watch the sunset. Stunning. Room was well worth the price and staff was friendly and helpful. I speak zero Japanese and got by just fine.

This was one of the most disappointing hotels out of the hundreds of hotels I've stayed at all over Japan. First of all, not much choice around Kamakura so this hotel still gets a lot of business. It wasn't a terrible stay but definitely is not up to the Japanese standard. We stayed in a tatami room and the tatami panels were very dirty and stained. Rooms were very small even compared to other small hotels I've been at. The first floor sento smelled of mould as soon as the door opened, and sure enough as I was soaking in the bath, I look up and see black mould on the ceiling. I left quickly after that.

The room was beautiful. The staff was very welcoming and helpful. The public bath is very relaxing. The hotel provides samue (traditional Japanese unisex pants and top that can be worn to and from your room to the bath. They provide instructions in English for people who want to try it out, but don't know the public bath etiquette. There's a restaurant just down the street called Onari yoko-cho. The food is amazing! They have vegan options for ramen and sushi. The owners speak English fluently, one also speaks Spanish (and Japanese, of course!) Highly recommend voth this hotel and this restaurant.

We expected more from this hotel. Our room was dirty, the staff was not friendly and we had difficulty storing bags for the day we checked out to explore the town. It was still a good stay, but for the price we had expected much better service and hospitality from the hotel.

This was a beautiful little place to stay. Staff were excellent. Shopping was right out the doorway and close proximity to restaurants. Parking was a bit tricky. You have to pay 1900 yen per day for parking and it’s about a block away from the hotel in a parking lot by a little yellow house. Room was spacious and quiet.

Pros- Hotel staff were nice. Convenient walk to everything. 20min to the beach, 5-10min to shops. Loved the pajamas. I’m actually very sad I forgot to purchase them before leaving :(( Public bath was nice to have even if no minerals. Laundry was fast. Free coffee and tea available in lobby. Amenity goodies pretty standard, but fully available. I had a family room but was a solo traveler (the only room available at the time of booking) and had soooo much space. It was great. Fridge, water bottles, tea available in room. Cons- The pillows were hard. Bed was more firm. But unsure if it was bc I had bunk beds? Can’t speak about full sized beds. Room didn’t smell, but the bathroom had mildew smell. I honestly kept the AC on just to ventilate it, but since it’s powered by your room key, I could always smell it when I got back into the room. I just shut the bathroom door, and showered in the public bath. Very little counter space, but again, I didn’t use the bathroom unless I was washing my hands or brushing my teeth. I probably should have requested another room but I didn’t feel like complaining, and I just used the public bath anyway. My room came with a sofa bed, which was very comfy but it did have small stains on the slip cover. No smell though. I just laid a towel and blanket over it and sat on there. I assume since it’s a family room, it’s more susceptible to stains with kids. I saw hospitality cleaning one of the other rooms and I didnt see any couches in there.

We were given a choice of Japanese or American breakfast. Both were amazing. We extended our stay one night and had to change rooms. They held our luggage during the day, and allowed us to check back in early as our new room was ready. The hotels is a very short walk from Kamakura Station making it very convenient for using the train and local buses. It was very nice to have an on-site public bath with security for women guests. A nice surprise was their late night snack of miso and onigiri. The staff were extremely courteous and welcoming. It is also great that you are given the option of room cleaning or just getting fresh towels and pjs to save the planet.
