The hotel is relatively new. Located slightly off centre in the town, its distinctive red building borders being kitschy. Walking into the lobby, the decor is thankfully modern and decent. The front desk top is unusually high that the receptionist literally looks down on you from behind the desk. The check in process was smooth and the staff courteous. However the staff needs more training in acquiring more cultured and international outlook in communicating and projecting their presence with the guests. They can start with their uniform. Keep those polo neck t-shirts for maintenance staff.
The room (superior king) is impressive for the rate I paid. Good comfortable bed, large bathtub you’ll actually want to soak in, separate shower, large LCD tv, electronic switches... coming straight out of a 5 star hotel! That said, the carpet exposes some sharp nail heads — can be dangerous. The bathtub had to be drained manually since the knob had something broken. The glass shower cubicle is hilarious. It has gap between the glass door and the panel that when you shower, water would still splash on to the floor, flooding it as you shower. Might as well not have the door at all.
It was a nice stay. The hotel delivers, and it shows that it is trying. I had a wonderful time soaking in the bathtub! Definitely my choice of accommodation next time I’m in town.
