Gorgeous hotel, perfect location, friendly and helpful staff & yummy breakfast!

This was our first time in Oaxaca and honestly the hotel exceeded our expectations, if you’re looking for a true boutique hotel experience, well this is it. From the attentive staff, to all the thoughtful amenities in our room. Our room was the Suite Amador and it was beautiful. If we ever go back to Oaxaca we’ll definitely be going back to this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Carmen! Our room was even lovelier in person than on the website and the were fantastic.

This is an amazing hotel, and we can't wait to come back to Oaxaca and stay here again. We got a suite with an outdoor tub and really enjoyed breakfast out there every morning. The rooms are beautiful, comfy and very clean with every amenity you could need. Location is perfect for walking around town. Staff are fabulous and helpful. Truly one of my favorite hotels ever.

The property and the people that manage this property were amazing. It's in a quiet section of the city. The breakfast was fresh and well prepared. Since the moment we arrived, we were treated like long lost family. We stayed in the Carmen room which had Plenty of room. The property is very secure. You have to knock on the front door to be let in. Center city is a short walk, and everything is close by. If you need to go further, then walking then ask them to get a driver. The people they use are knowledgeable and professional. Will stay again when we return.

This property is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of great food, drinks and shopping. I was in awe the first time I saw the inside of the hotel and our room. It was beautifully designed, clean, and welcoming. The staff at the hotel was INCREDIBLE. They welcomed us with mezcal, beer, cold water. One morning we left at 6:30am and they made breakfast just for the two of us since we couldn't make the standard 9am-11am breakfast time. We'll definitely be back to stay here. I cannot recommend enough!

Casa Carmen is beautifully decorated and located conveniently in one of Oaxaca's best neighborhoods. It's within a few blocks of all of Oaxaca's gourmet restaurants, the Zocalo, right across the street from Jardin Etnobotanico and there is no shortage of amazing street food around the hotel. However, there were plenty of issues that affected our comfort, which were enough to downgrade my rating. First, we arrived and our AC was broken, we told the attendant and he said they could not fix it until the next day (which was Sunday). Aside from this no other solution was offered to us, we had to ask to change rooms or even for a fan, both options were not a possibility at the time of our arrival. The next day, I had to consult the concierge on their planned solution, and they said they would bring a fan, finally I asked if we could change rooms and after some hesitation she relented and said we could occupy another room after the guests had checked out. Our new room's AC worked fine, but the shower head would blast water all over the bathroom if it was turned up all the way. Although not huge dealbreakers, this lack of attention to detail and not quite 5 star service would dissuade me from recommending this place. To their credit housekeeping was impeccable, and our room was always spotless every time we returned to the room, a welcome touch after a day of exploring beautiful Oaxaca.

No parking at the hotel. You must park across the street for a charge. No hot water. We payed 285$ for a room with a bathtub that was useless. The tv locked up and said no signal. Useless. And to top it off the dance club next door played music so loud you could feel the base in your chest..till 2 am. Just don't!

We have stayed at most of the high end hotels in Oaxaca and this is by far the best. The hotel is beautiful, and the staff could not be nicer or more accommodating. We stayed in the Amador room and and it was perfect, the bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom with the cacti was so unique. We were able to tour two of the other rooms and both were perfectly appointed with design features unique to that room. We will certainly be back - with friends!

Descansamos y disfrutamos mucho del espacio, muy recomendable si quieres un espacio distinto, artistico y comodo. Ademas de tener lo mejor del centro, a pasos.
