Beautiful property with great staff would return

We stayed at the Dorado Royale for the first time and absolutely loved everything about it. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel very welcome. The food was absolutely fantastic - in every single restaurant (they have more than 10 speciality restaurants and bars and we tried as many as possible :) And the service was outstanding—everyone was so friendly and attentive. We really appreciated that there were lots of fun activities and entertainment options, but no pressure to join—everything was relaxed and easygoing. We joined a few games and events when we felt like it, and it was a great way to mix things up. We took part in two excursions, both really well organized and great. We also had the candle light dinner at the beach, which was fantastic. The resort offers three different parts - two for adults only (Dorado Casitas and Dorado Royale), and one for families (Generations). We stayed at the Dorado Royale. The whole resort is just beautiful—like a paradise. And everything was spotless and well-maintained. We usually don’t go back to the same place twice, but this time we’re seriously considering it!

Sergio is awesome. We had an issue and he had our room switched within minutes. The food is okay. My only true complaint is the carts around the property. Some of the drivers will pass you with empty carts. Overall a good stay otherwise!

The staff was very helpful. The hotel was not a party place, so if you are looking to relax, then this is the place. There's no beach to swim. If you are like me, a beach person, then this is not for you. The rocks, the see weed makes it impossible to go in the water. I liked the a la carte restaurants but you should always have buffet for lunch. Because the snack bars would close at 3:30 and it was either pizza or nothing. I also had a swim up pool in my room, the pool was not cleaned, and the main pool should be cleaned more often.

This was our third stay and we can’t wait to book our fourth!

Service was the best.

We got a room on the first floor of the building number 7. I imagine one of the worst buildings and one of the worst rooms, cause otherwise I cannot justify the positive reviews. The building was old, the room even older. It is in a desperate need of renovation. Long list of small issues that we tried to fix but eventually gave up. Old furniture that is falling apart and hasn’t been clean in a while. The room was very dark and one of the main light switches malfunctioned at first (“it just needs a little knock”, the bellboy said) and died for good on day three. The safe stopped locking on day 2, and after it got fixed on day 3 after several desperate calls to send someone to fix it, it stopped working completely on day 4. The room smelled of dust and dumpiness and old age. The toilet handle didn’t work, so the toilet didn’t flush. After someone came and fixed it, it stopped working again on the same day. By that time we reached a different level of enlightenment, hence just moved the lead and manually pressed the button inside the toilet tank to flush. It worked mostly fine. Our room was located right by the staircase, and hotel obviously knows nothing about sound-

Everything was wonderful but the app was detracting at times and any time we would use it to message concierge we never got a reaponse

I love the shuttle access the property is large. All staff were friendly and welcoming. Pls be sure to set up your transportation to various activities and set dinner reservations before you head to your room upon check in/arrival. Kompai is a my fav. Dress accordingly with collared shirts for men to attend dinner at the restaurants.

Our first time atan all inclusive, we were really impressed. The place was very clean, the staff excellent the food was good, transportation on the large property was great. The transportation from the airport was not good, we had to wait a long time and although my wife speaks fluent spanish, the communication was very poor. Lots of staff standing around and not really helpful. From the hotel to the airport was excellent.

I did the spa. Not sure if it was a VIP amenity, but it was wonderful. Thanks expedia. For the price we paid, it was worth every penny!!

The property is absolutely amazing. Beautiful landscaping and culture filled architecture!

The quality of f&b was really good. The rooms look tired and old but are clean. The check in check out process is terrible, same as the internal transportation (golfcarts) be prepared to walk walk and walk since the carts do not stop to pick you up they seem always in a rush to get somewhere

We had a phenomenal time! The grounds were stunning and the staff was even more impressive! The food options were impeccable. Can’t wait to come back!

Everything in the resort was great .

This was for our first-year Anniversary. Everyone from General Management to the Bell Staff has been excellent. Everyone is kind and helpful, plus there are some great food options. We will be back!!

Overall, I would rate this property very highly and would return. My husband and I went for 4 nights for our 10 year wedding anniversary. What we liked: -Different pool options depending on if you wanted more activities or quiet -The food was DELICIOUS and so were the drinks. Sometimes food is not great at an all-inclusive and we were blown away by almost every meal! -The grounds were so beautiful -Beachside couples massage and water therapy journey at the spa were amazing -The nightly shows were really fun and entertaining What we didn't love: -The communication. We were told the poolside cabanas were free and first-come, first-serve. We got all setup one morning and the waiter quickly asked if we had a reservation and that it would be $50 to rent the bed for the day and $250 for food/drink service. So we gathered all our things and moved spots and felt embarrassed. -We attended the sales presentation to get a free couple's massage. Initially were told it would be 60 minutes with lunch, then arrived and were told it would be 90 minutes, were there in total 2 hours without lunch. We just wanted to get on with our vacation. Overall, we would definitely return and loved the friendliness of the staff, the many restaurant options, and the entire experience.
