Everything was great!

Pros: Canela the hotel Dog is a very special hotel addition✔ +street dogs are very sweet and I reccomend you pick up dog food at xoxo to feed them please✔ +Pool is almost always sparkling clean and fun though i got glass in my foot ✔ +Rooms are very clean = thanks Blanca! +Front desk, cleaning staff and kitchen staff can be helpful "if asked" +Iguana community has lots of friendly Canadians and is special in that way. +very isolated if you need help, groceries or a hospital if a solo traveller. No uber eats. Cons: - VERY rude gardener named Lalo. Yelled at me for a street dog I was paying a vet to com see AND the hotel dog that they do not vet (who brings joy to all) but is sick with erlichia. I had already informed the front desk. He yelled anyway and terrified the two dogs again. TOXIC MAN. - same man was demeaning to an older lady more than once. - Management could not get him to appigize. Told other young man to do the same to treat me and my rescue paid dog with disdain. No accountability - wifi is terrible if you are a digital nomad - there seem to be no hotel rules for noise=very loud weekends and NO front desk interventuon. - begrudgingly desk staff may help with bags. No elevator. - hide water cooler in the office to make people use and buy plastic water bottles. NOT environmentally friendly.

Bad timing but staff was wonderful

We absolutely loved our stay, the only complaint is the jacuzzi didnt work and was always cold wgich we where really counting on after our long hikes to ease our muscles. But the staff was so friendly and amazing and eager to help. We liked the location as it was walming distance to the beach and the bis was close for easy transport around. Some of the structure was a bit outdated but still sound. There also was the sweetest and most amazing hotel dog named Canella that made you feel safe and watched over, she minds her business but enjoys loves if you initiate. All around id recommend and would use this hotel again.

The wifi is only in the common areas and not in any of the rooms, which is inconvenient, but not a deal breaker. Here’s the thing, I was not impressed by the front door but after you go into the actual courtyard, it’s much nicer than you’d think. The rooms are big and are in decent condition for the age and area. It is very convenient to walk down to the beach and excursions, and not be super high priced because it’s not right on the beach.

A really nice little hotel if you don’t want an enormous, sprawling complex. Has everything including an OXXO on the main level!

NOTHING was as advertised!! Photos showed restaurant and bar in top condition, whereas the bar didn’t appear to have been used in years. The deck portrayed outside chairs for each unit, whereas only 4 chairs appeared on the top deck where our unit was located. The TV didn’t work! There was no refrigerator, not even a coffee maker in the unit.

Yet another wonderful stay at Casa Iguana. It feels like coming home to family. Always so clean (Thank you Carla and ladies!) and everyone is so nice. Lalo takes great care of the grounds and pool and Martha is always fun to talk with in the restaurant.

The hotel is modest and small and that is its appeal. The staff are regular and one can get to know them a bit. The rooms have everything needed and attentive daily housekeeping. The hotel enforces quiet hours (much appreciated). The onsite restaurant is good value. The grounds are very picturesque. The hotel is very pet friendly, providing pet beds and water dishes and lots of grass for the pet. The environment is peaceful. The location is close to stores for groceries, restaurants, and the beach.

The staff were wonderful. I rented a two bedroom suite, the fridge had been removed, so no fridge. Five of us, two bath towels, no hand towels. Attention do detail could be looked into.

We loved the room, the location, the grounds, pool. Everything. Cleaning staff were amazing. Thank you for the great vacation. I would return again.

Great value. Away from crowds. Near birds. Only downside was basketball player noise early in the morning.

Staff were wonderful. Everything is clean however some areas are in need of some TLC and refurbishing….but they are working on this. Pool and garden areas are beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves…relaxing and laid back atmosphere.

Everything was perfect we will be back for year 5 next year

Waking up

The location was what we expected, the grounds and pool were good, the staff was good, housekeeping was pretty good, but many parts of the hotel were a disappointment because of lack of maintenance. Pool side chairs were missing pieces, chairs in the restaurant were not clean, the door on our room was in a poor state, etc, etc. The place has potential but needs some serious attention.

Smoking should only be allowed on the sidewalk by the road, not on the hotel grounds. The smell of cigarette smoke was prevalent and noxious. Room was clean, staff friendly, extras like coffee, coffee maker, kitchen counter, sink, stove burners and separate bedrooms were much appreciated.
