Another reviewer commented that this was more like a boutique hotel than a B&B and we would agree. Comfortable, stylish, friendly service and plentiful continental breakfast served to your table - perfect for our whistle stop cycling tour of Zeeland. We were able to store our bikes in the cellar which was very handy.

Simon and Peter were the perfect hosts and real love and care had gone into every detail. It’s a beautiful Period property that has been modernised to a very high standard very sympathetically. The room was spacious and well appointed with a huge bed and lots of sitting options. The bathroom had a big shower and was lovely and modern.
At breakfast the food was delicious and top ups of coffee freely offered. The breakfast room is beautiful with lovely decoration and a stunning clock, it really was easy to imagine yourself back in time. The attention to detail was particular abundant with great presentation at breakfast.
The warm welcome and genuine hospitality shined and was what made our stay so special. I would recommend the property highly and will certainly be going back.

Short stay B&B to attend conference in Middelburg. Great breakfast, although you have to keep asking for coffee refills. Tricky steep stairs in old Dutch house so not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. Great Christmas atmosphere in town with skating! Within 10 minutes walk of shops and all Middelburg facilities. 10-15 minutes walk to railway station.

My husband and I booked this B&B as the first stop on our honeymoon. We arrived in Middelburg by train around 3:30 in the afternoon and after checking the map, we made our way there on foot (about a 15 minute walk, lugging suitcases). When we arrived, we were greeted by the host, Simon, who was very friendly and immediately took us up to our room (and carried my suitcase). We made small talk about our trip while he showed us where everything was, discussed my love of having our own coffee maker available in the room, and upon discovering that my husband was sick, he went down to the kitchen and returned with hot tea and honey for him. The 400-year-old building is beautifully decorated and modern without losing the old-world charm. It's clear that the hosts took the time to preserve the history, while updating the house to maximize style and comfort. Breakfast was served for a large portion of the morning, at 1 of 2 large communal tables, but we were free to show up downstairs whenever we wanted within the timeframe and food was brought out to us on a large platter - a variety of meats, cheeses and bread/buns, as well as fresh fruit, eggs, sweet buns, and bottomless coffee and juice. Simon was more than happy to chat with us about the house and the town, but we never felt awkward like we weren't able to get away. It was just right. Also, there is a cat ("Jimmy") who lives there as well, but doesn't go up to the rooms. Just happy and content to lay in the hall and be petted.

The B&B is a short 15 minute walk from Middelburg train station and very easy to find. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming, offering suggestions for restaurants, pubs and general areas of interest - even providing us with discount vouchers for the local museum! The room itself is nicely decorated and had a wonderfully comfortable bed. Everything was spotlessly clean and smelled fresh. The breakfast was plentiful and appetising - something to get up early for! Overall a very relaxing and luxurious stay.
