I booked this for a family trip to Dutch GP and Leiden being recommended as a lovely city and convenient for getting to Zandvoort but allowing a quick get away at end. Booked hotel because of pool, sauna and wellness area. However, it was only on arrival that it was explained that outside of 08.00 to 9.30 wellness area is aux natural. That is fine but if this had been clearly stated on hotel description i would have saved money and gone elsewhere. Paid for facilities that as a family we couldn't use. Feel really disappointed, especially as room and bed was actually great.

This hotel is right next to the train station and it was very quiet, and very handy. The hotel was a bit awkward as it was associated to the wellness centre, a residential care facility and next door to the Leiden university medical centre. There were often patients in the hallway outside of our hotel room. Some were elderly, some were confused. It was a bit unusual. Staff were fine but it seemed a bit off that we had flown flown overnight on a 10 hour flight arriving at 2pm middle of the week and that our room wasn’t ready, but another room exactly the same room available and was and it would be an extra 25€. At that this point I was exhausted and paid the 25 and stumbled into bed for a rest.Room was clean and tidy, bed was very soft.

I have stayed at this hotel several times because the location is very close to the railway station and makes transportation easy, this time I was given a room that was not clean, the wall paper was loosening from the wall, I felt it was generally shabby, dirty and poorly maintained and when they are charging 160 euros for a room per night without breakfast, I don’t see this as a good deal

The hotel was very central- it was excellent for walking into Leiden. There was no communal lounge facilities which was disappointing. The swimming pool had very limited opening hours from 8-9.30am. It was geared towards paying for the Wellness suite. This was a shame as it would have been enjoyable using it more often.

The hotel is very 3 star basic: clean, limited amenities (soap, towel, hair dryer, coffee). Lacking sufficient electrical outlets, USB/C connections. Walls are thin (you hear every cough in corridors and neighboring rooms) and rooms are situated on floors where there are active businesses operating like physiotherapy studios. That raised for us questions about security since anyone can come up the elevator. Want a gym, spa, or simple breakfast? Expect to pay lots of extras, diminishing the value for money.
