We stayed here the night before departing on our south-bound Hurtigruten voyage, and it was great. The price was slightly better than other Kirkenes hotels, but Barents Frokosthotell offered roll-away beds, so we could fit the 6 of us (2 kids, 2 parents, 2 grandparents) into only 2 rooms. (We would have needed 3 rooms at another hotel.) The bedrooms and bathrooms were neat and clean, the common area was a nice bonus, and the breakfast was exceptional. The ownership has recently changed, and the new owner is friendly and eager to please. He offered us restaurant recommendations and quickly helped us solve a problem with our credit cards.

Very clean, no one at reception when we arrived early. Breakfast was dry cereal and milk BUT bathroom floor was heated, and heater for room was very good. Kitchen tidy. Overall, a less expensive alternative that is okay.

When our party of fou arrived, the manager told us the hotel was fully booked. He said he had arranged accommodations at another hotel and would drive us there. We had no choice but to go with him. Three blocks from there he drove us to an ATM and insisted we get cash to pay for the hotel- we refused! He then proceeded to drive us to the “other” hotel which was actually a basement apartment in some house a mile away. We refused and said we wanted to go back and figure this out for ourselves. We did not use this reservation and you should ban this hotel from your website. What a horrible experience to end a long day of traveling with:

A modest hotel in the heart of Kirkenes, next door to the taxi service and across the street from a splendid Café, restaurants, and exciting shops that lead to an indoor mall with great variety. Within walking distance of Anders Grotta bomb shelter from WWII, a farther walk to the Rema 1000 grocery store is worthwhile, in addition in good weather and with hearty shoes with grippers a decent thirty minute hike to the Hurtigruten boarding area and fun filled gift shoppe with better prices than the gift shoppes in Bergen, stock up and go early, enjoy Kirkenes, and the kind people there, also the front desk staff was very directional and helpful. Breakfast was simple but very nutritious, and the convenient location and good cost of this hotel makes up for it's older modest appearance overall.

Choice is between two big international hotels, and a few smaller local ones. The place doesn't look the most appealing from the outside, but the chap on reception was very keen to help, and when we were worried the room might be a little cold, soon got it warm for us. Also very helpful with directions and places to go. All in all we enjoyed our stay, felt very welcoming and a personal service that you don't get in the bigger places.

I stayed here with a friend for one night before boarding the Hurtigruten ship. I think I would class this hotel as a hostel accomodation rather than hotel, and is therefore very overpriced. The room was very small and the bathroom quite in need of modernising. There was an electric heater on the floor which was ver dangerous as water from the shower went everywhere The wifi was good and the manager very friendly and helpful, but I would not recommend this hotel

After we went to hotel staff asked us "do you have a reservation for today or tomorrow". Then he was finding for our reservation for 10 mins. After that they sent us to the place which was far away from city center by old car and mean guy. In that place, it was so awful and dark. It has full of used towel in the basket which i dont know why it was in our room. If you want to stay in awful place, here is the best choice

Nedslidt og dårligt vedligeholdt. Der var INTET at få, der var heller ingen service så man kunne lave sig en kop kaffe. Tilhørende Tekøkken var ikke færdiggjort. Så navnet Breakfasthotel er meget vildledende. Personale kunne hverken Norsk eller engelsk, og der var ingen imødekommenhed. Vi blev afkrævet kr. 300 for at have vores bagage opstillet på kontoret, indtil check-in. Kommer der aldrig igen.
