Surfari Bocas

We used Boca as a base to explore. The place is small but comfortable beds, full kitchen in our unit and a full shared kitchen across the hall. Air conditioning is quiet and powerful. Power outlets by every bed. Erica the manager is very friendly and helpful. The daily rate is unbeatable. A good supermarket around the corner. We stayed 4 nights. Consider take the bus and do the bat cave.

The owner and the other man ( didn’t get his name) are super friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. The apartment was clean and spacious with hot water and comfortable bed with good aircon, the kitchen in the apartment was well equipped so you could cook easily, the communal kitchen was also well equipped and clean.also nice and quiet area Would definitely stay here again,

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Affordable, clean, beautiful, welcoming hosts, and a very cute resident cat. Free coffee. Comfortable beds. Close to everything in Bocas Town. Hot water, although we had some trouble keeping the shower a constant temperature. However this really didn’t detract from our awesome stay!

Would’ve been a 5/5 for sure. The area is nice, the staff is nice. Everything is clean and felt very safe the entire time. The downside however… Our room was in the corner next to the stairs, and for some reason whenever anyone in the entire upstairs would turn on the water, you could hear what we assumed was the water pump. It wasn’t quiet or in the back ground. It had a really loud high pitched noise and would go on for a long time, changing tones and turning on/off randomly. It doesn’t let you sleep through the night and you’re getting up with whoever decides to turn on water first (usually around 5am in our experience). I’m sure any other room would be quieter and nice but I feel bad for you if you’re stuck in room 15 or 25.

The owner is wonderful, so helpful and communicative! Place is very quiet and safe (and im a solo female traveler) room is basic but all you need. Wonderful coffee is made in the kitchen every morning. Will definitely stay here again.

It’s decent. Nice coffee, full kitchen, alright rooms. The shower wasn’t the best and the doors had massive gaps all around. It was comfortable enough but nothing to be ecstatic with. It was quite nice that the bins were changed daily and swept I believe too, so felt clean and looked after

For the price, this place was great. Thomas was very helpful and the location made it easy to get around.

Muy buena atención y super cerca de todo; el lugar es muy tranquilo y limpio. Sus dueños son muy ambles atentos. Sin duda volveria a hospedarme con ellos.

Pros: close to the action in Bocas Town; affordable Cons: Can be too close to the action in Bocas Town, especially on weekends with load music and fireworks shows at 2 am. Concrete floors transmit noise from adjacent rooms with ease. 20-something crowd can be very boisterous, especially if partaking to adult beverages on the weekend. It's much more a hostel with private rooms than a b&b.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The manager was always very nice and made sure I was comfortable. They were very respectful with quiet time until 9 a.m. in the morning, which was nice. My bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. All in all, a great place for the price!

Very friendly Host. Great location! On a side street off the main road so 1min walk to the main area but able to get away from noise at night, highly recommend!

First of all, it is steps from the docks you will land at when arriving to Bocas Town. The amenities are amazing! Roof top patio to enjoy, a kitchen with shared fridges to make your own meals while staying in Bocas.. A nice dining area to chill with fellow travelers. And the rooms- spotless. Clean beds, clean sheets, clean towels, clean floors. One of the best we stayed in. The AC worked perfectly (for Canadians like us who need it). It was also very safe and the owner is such a great guy! We recommended this location to everyone.

Our stay at the B & B Surfari was ok. The room was clean and the beds ok...mattresses a little too soft. The reason I said I would not recommend this place to a friend is for two reasons; the first is because the Surfari calls itself a B & B but food was not offered at all. No breakfast included or even available. Every B & B we have ever stayed in had breakfast included. The young lady who checked us in was very friendly and helpful and directed us to a really good place to eat for dinner and breakfast that was just down the street. The second reason was the smell of sewage that was almost overwhelming. I'm not sure exactly where it was coming from but it was nasty. It might not have been from the hotel but it would make it hard to recommend this place to a friend for those reasons. Also, we were overcharged for our room but the hotel and Expedia both worked hard to get it corrected so we appreciated that very much.

The owners were incredibly kind. The breakfast that was included was great. I feel the price we paid was very fair. We had Wi-Fi in the room, as well as AC and hot showers. We really enjoyed our stay.

This is one of the better places I've ever experienced. There is a reason this place is always sold out. Jim and Charlene were extremely welcoming and accommodating. They went out of their way to ensure their guests were having a great time and genuinely appreciate having travelers visit their B&B. Breakfast is made custom for every guest and always contributed to a great start to my day. Jim and Charlene also give good recommendations for places to eat, tours to go on, and bars to visit in the evening. I enjoyed playing with the only Labradoodie on the island and local celebrity, Daisy. If your feeling high energy, Daisy will fetch the frisbee until your arm falls off! The location is directly behind the main street which gets away from the noise. I received a great night's sleep every night and the rooms were clean with great WIFI. As a solo traveler I really enjoyed the sense of community the two Canadian managers provide. Most early nights were spent having a couple of Balboa's discussing fun things about where everyone is from. The washer and dryer is free to use as well, which comes in handy when you find your clothes soaking wet after a late night of jumping in the ocean. This place is amazing and I HIGHLY recommend you book all your nights here. You won't regret it.
