Muntele Rece

We stayed at Muntele Rece for two nights an we fully enjoyed our stay. The location is great, slightly away from Bran town centre yet within walking distance of Bran Castle, the atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing and the views are breathtaking. On top of that our host Andreea was very friendly and helpful showing a great level of hospitality. We hope to return soon!

What a brilliant stay. The accommodation is of traditional Romanian style - comfortable and authentic with wonderful country and mountain views. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast more than adequate. The surrounding area has so much to offer. Mountain trails, castles/fortresses and the Libearty Sanctuary were my favourites. You will need a car here. Remember to message ahead to arrange a book in time. A small kettle in the room for tea/coffee would have made this the perfect stay. Thank you fir having me stay.

very nice close to the castle can walk there also some hiking and out in the country, nice breakfast, probably best to come in your own car

We arrived really late so was kind of staff to wait up. Room very spacious and clean and lovely view from balcony of mountains. No kettle in room and felt very frowned upon for asking for cups of hot water to make tea, so that made us feel a bit uncomfortable. Aside from that a very lovely stay and great base for the Transylvania trail races.

This is a very good hotel, near the castle and the town. We booked a room with mountain views so we could see the castle. The owners were so kind and helpful, they really cared about everything. Breakfast is home made and was great. I really recommend it.

This is a beautiful property, friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere and stunning location. I'll be back with my kids next year as it's very family centric.

Stopped here on our way from Bucharest to Cluj. Great location (close to attractions) and wonderful facility. Very clean and inviting.

Very pleasant hotel near the Bran Castle. Beautiful view, clean rooms, good food, excellent free breakfast, great staff. Have gone back and taken friends several times.

Great place when you find it. Signage restrictions make it difficult for the owners to place a larger sign at the main road. The hotel itself is charming and situate on the outskirts of the town. We found a road just down the street from the hotel that would take you directly to the parking area for the Bran Castle main attraction area.

Muntele Rece is not located in the town of Bran!, that through me off when trying to locate it. However, it is only a kilometer away from the town limits.No problem walking into town, which has several excellent restaurants! Located on a hill across the valley from Castle Bran, with a nice view of the castle from the hotel. Very well appointed, clean, modern and attractive. The breakfast was excellent, one of the best I've had in Europe. I enjoyed my visit very much. Highly recommended.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well kept. The breakfast was even better than expected. The only thing we wish was that the location was closer into Bran central area.

Stunning mountain views, nice staff, great service, gorgeous room with wooden furniture, delicious breakfast included and dinner at restuarant reasonably priced-quaesedillas were delicious. So nice here we stayed another night soaking up the scenery

Very nice hotel -- the house is beautiful and quite cozy. The views are great and the staff is very friendly. The restaurant has good food at reasonable prices.

We really enjoyed our stay at Muntele Rece. Our room was bigger than we expected which was great for the kids, and there was an amazing view of the mountains. Our 5 year old loved watching sheep being herded down the street in front of us. A bathtub would have been nice, but the shower felt amazing and made up for the lack of tub. The only strange thing was the hotel being left unattended at times, we went out for dinner, and upon our return had to call the staff to come back and let us in. Would reccomend this hotel to friends with kids. Bonus, Bran castle was was just a short walk away so we still had plenty of energy for all the stairs

This hotel was by far the best experience for us on our 2 weeks of travelling throughout Romania. All facilities were superbly maintained and tastefully appointed. The Proprietor and staff provided friendly and attentive service that made us feel welcome and at home. Our room had a magnificent view of the Bucegi Mountains. The internet service was free and worked flawlessly. We were able to park our car in the hotel's parking lot and walk to Bran Castle. Dinner was available at the hotel's restaurant and we enjoyed a traditional Romanian meal from the menu. The ample breakfast in the morning was included with the stay. We extend our compliments to Montele Rece.

Excellent small hotel ideal for travelling around the local area (Fortified churchs, Bran Castle, Brasov etc) We were a large family group ( 3 rooms) and staff made sure that we had everything that we wanted. They even assisted with some washing of clothes as this was the midpoint of a 2 week trip. The teenagers in the group loved the games room where they were able to play table tennis, pool and "Poker". Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of foods on offer including cooked breakfast alongside fresh fruit. The first morning there was a lack of tea for such a large group but this was resolved the following morning. We had our main meal in the restaurant the first night and again this was excellent. We would highly recommend trying the cheese platter for a starter to share. Both for the evening meal and breakfast the staff prepared a large table outside for us so that we could eat overlooking the mountains. Views from the rooms and outside area are amazing. As was the decoration of the hotel. Only minus was that the rooms were not cleaned on a daily basis which meant that the bathroom bins were not emptied but this may not be the case for stays of more than 2 nights.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le calme de l’endroit ainsi que la propreté. Le personnel est très serviable. Le petit-déjeuner est très copieux. Si vous allez à Bran, je vous recommande de séjourner chez eux!
