ibis Edinburgh Centre Royal Mile

Excellent location, simple check in and a small cafe/bar in the lobby. If you’ve arrived by train the location Is so convenient (taking the market street exit there will be stairs). Location is also perfect for all the sights! Wifi was strong, A few steps to the room…but it’s Edinburgh and nothing is flat!

Breakfast had a good variety. The staff were great. Wi-fi worked well. The whole place was well kept and clean.

Prime location was in the center of city, five min walk up the stairs from train station, many pubs and shops all around, breakfast all the regular fixings and the staff was very friendly,

This hotel is right in the middle of everything 😊 Within walking distance to so many sights, stores and restaurants.

Ideal location for getting around centre of Edinburgh. Excellent cooked breakfast to get you going for the day.

A Perfect "Base Camp" for Tourists This hotel is an ideal choice if your priority is location, location, location. It places you directly in the heart of the Old Town, making it perfect for travelers who plan to spend most of their time exploring and just need a clean, modern place to sleep. However, the trade-off for being in the center of the action is that rooms are compact and the area can be busy and noisy. The Best Part: You are literally seconds from the Royal Mile. Edinburgh Castle, St Giles' Cathedral, and the National Museum of Scotland are all within a 5-10 minute walk. Edinburgh Waverley train station is also very close (about a 5-minute walk). Style: Rooms feature the standard modern ibis design—functional, clean, and bright with wood-effect flooring. Size: Be prepared for small rooms. They are "compact" by design, meaning there isn't much floor space for large suitcases. Breakfast: The daily buffet is consistently rated well. It’s a "hearty" spread with both hot (sausages, bacon, haggis, eggs) and cold (pastries, fruit, yogurt) options. Cost: If not included in your booking, it can be a bit pricey (approx. £13-£15 per person), but many guests find it worth it for the convenience and variety. Bar: There is a 24-hour bar on-site which serves drinks and light snacks/pizzas, which is handy if you arrive late.Staff are friendly, efficient, and happy to store luggage for you before check-in or after check-out (a huge plus for tourists).A Perfect "Base Camp"

Great staff, clean room, stellar location. Only downside of the location is it also seems to be a gathering space for the very drunk and disorderly right outside the hotel in the square. It didn’t feel unsafe, but was just noisy at times. Great spot though. Highly recommend.

Could not be in a better location 200 feet from the Royal Mile. Staff was nice, room was simple and clean. Liked the bar.

Location - five stars!

Hotel is very conveniently located right off the Royal mile. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that there was construction and painting happening in the hotel and on our floor, which no one advised us about upon check in. Would be nice to know if hotel is under renovation ahead of time.

Staff were pleasant, check in was not, had to get the key programmed 3 times. Hotel is undergoing renovation so chaos.

Not really a good selection, eggs were cold bacon very salty. Cereals were a nightmare to get out of the silly tins with the scoops provided.

It was the perfect location for us — near everything we wanted to see at walking distance. The only downside was the construction happening which we know is necessary at times. There was also a day where there was no hot water so we couldn’t shower but it sounds like that was an unexpected issue — it would’ve been nice to have been notified of that issue that it sounds like they had known about it all day and we found out at night. Staff was nice, location was great, and the heater was nice to have in the chilly nights.
