Good place for budget stay. Near to many local shops/restaurants, so you won't hungry for 24/7. For transportation you can walk to nearest bus station for 5 minutes or Paya Lebar MRT station for 15 minutes which can take you to whole island. Hope you enjoy your stay as much as I do. Cheerio.

We are at Number 200 Joo Chiat Road, right above Pho Viet restaurant. We are across the street from the Hotel 81 Sakura. This section of Joo Chiat Road is a one-way street and we are on the right-hand side of the street. We are located a few metres before the junction of Joo Chiat Road and Joo Chiat Lane.

Directions from Changi Airport :
- Public Bus: Take Bus 24 from any airport terminal, alight at Joo Chiat Complex, and walk 6 minutes to Betel Box Hostel
- MRT: Take the train from airport terminal 2 or 3, alight at Paya Lebar Station (EW8/CC9), and walk 15-20 minutes to Betel Box Hostel
- Taxi: 20 minutes of journey time and costs approximately SGD18-SGD26

The Reception and staff are very kind,hospitable and very accomodating, The Place is clean and very nice to stay with very affordable price. Feels like home and you are very welcome.

The hostel was organized very well. There are reasonable laundry services. Free Gym! I had a great one night stay. What made me concerned as solo lady traveller a bit is the location was surrounded by Karaoke. Anyway, it seems safe. Nothing really looks dangerous. I recommend some other to stay here as well. It was a bit far to main attraction sites. Though there are places to see here too.

I stayed for 1 night in Betel Box Backpackers Hotel. I felt like stayed at home here. The room was good enough to sleep, the receptionist was kind enough to give information about how to go in Singapore. I felt like stay at home, we get free breakfast and there some books to read. Actually this hostel in easy to find even I should walk about 1.7kms from MRT Paya Lebar. In addition, this hostel is equal with the price. :)

I stayed one night there, fresh sheet and blanket for every new guest, but you need to make your bed yourself. The staff are friendly and 24h standby. Free flow hot tea or coffee and bread for breakfast on common space. The minus are just limited power outlet, need to go to common space or locker area to charge your thing. Locker are free but you need to bring your own padlock or deposit some money. Location far from MRT but easy to go to Mosque.

Spent 12 nights here and everything was awesome! From the 24 hours receptionist, friendly staff, free breakfast, etc. The bus station was also near the hostel, you can walk for 300 m.

The lobby is cozy. But if you stay at afternoon only one standing fan and it's very hot because singapore is humid. This Nov ac is little bit broken. But if stay at night still better. But if you traveling it's kinda hard to mrt by walk... But for rest it's ok

Although the room was booked in the dorm but the bed and bathroom sharing was quite clean, breakfast, fruit and mineral water were free to take as desired. To the MRT station about 15 minutes walk but the bus stop is quite close. At night this area is very crowded because of many places of entertainment but it is very safe for a solo traveler woman like me. Uncle the keeper is very friendly and kind.
