All of the staffs at the Shilla Stay Gwangwhamun Myungdong are very kind and the services that i received was excellent.
A lots of places you need to visit, food and shopping are walking distance. It's perfect location.
We enjoyed a lot while you stayed.

Only thing i liked about this hotel was the front desk receptionist, Kim moon ki how he helped me to get my money refund for 3 nights. I initially booked for 4 nights but i only stayed for 6 hr. I arrived on April 3, 2025 to find the area around the hotel in complete commotion with thousands of police officers surrounding the area, streets barricaded and blocked off, thousands of protesters using multiple amplified speakers to loudly broadcast music, drums, and their screaming protests - the boisterous crowd was two blocks away from the hotel. The noise persisted throughout the early morning hours making it impossible to sleep and I observed increasing numbers of police and police buses arriving near the hotel. I felt extremely unsafe and

Great location in Seoul- really easy to walk to places nearby or catch the bus. The service here was great- the cleanliness of the rooms was spot on. The only downside was the rooms being a bit small, but overall pretty good experience.

Mr. Ben Park at the front desk is wonderful. We had a big group to check in, he clearly knew how to handle it. He not only understood our needs but also gave some useful advice on how to manage check in and check out. He is one the best check in staff we have ever deal with. 5 star on him! But the other staff, especially a girl at the front desk needs to be trained. She had an attitude when speaking to us and it felt like being rebuked every time we asked for her assistance. So we all tried to avoid her. Mr. Park will bring back business to your hotel. That girl at the front desk will not.

Shilla Stay recognizable rooms and main lobby designs are cool and cozy: the strong point of this hotel concept.
The breakfast buffet is good in quality but relatively limited in the choice variety. Nothing to complain about except if your stay is long: it becomes repetitive.
Shilla Stay Gwanghwamun is exceptionally well located, right next to famous Chogye Sa temple, and just a few minutes walk away from most downtown offices, as well as most touristy spots: various traditional palaces, Bukcheon old village, Insadong antique and artsy shops, Chongyecheong artificial river, City Hall,... And the Seoul Station (KTX trains to visit the country, Airport Railway) are just 2 subway stops away.
