Unique property in an old building with the most interesting elevator. Really quite beautiful but quirky. Room was clean and had a small balcony and the water pressure in the shower was great. The hotel is in the middle of everything, shops, food, plazas, near Las Ramblas and all the major sights. Staff was excellent and so helpful. Would go back!

Location is the selling point. It does the job - very basic, fairly small, beds were comfortable and water pressure was good. Walls were thin - if you’re a light sleeper, it’s not a great choice. The door to our bathroom didn’t close fully, which was odd but workable.

Convenient location to catch the airport Bus early the next morning. Just about a block away. Many shops and places to eat nearby. The check in desk was a challenge to find since there were no obvious Hotel sign out on the street and the desk is on the second floor with access via a single person with luggage antiquated elevator. Interesting place. Great location and price. Rooms are nice and very clean and bright. Lot of lights. Good security. You need a code for the outside door and then you need your room card to open the door to the hall and then again for your room. Rooms are very basic but decent size. Everything looks new or remodeled. The biggest challenge is finding it. There is no outside sign. We had to go into a shop on the corner and ask. Basically it is just a big wooden door with a keypad entry next to Gino's Restaurant. There is a 24 hour front desk on the 2nd floor but it is pretty minimal and the attendant is not always there. There is a Taxi stand across the street by the Burger King which worked well for getting to Sagrada Familia in the Rain. Overall it was a pleasant stay and worked well for 2 days in Barcelona after a cruise.

If you’re working remote do not stay here. The WiFi was terrible. I had to asked for shampoo. They don’t sweep the floor daily. We stayed here for four days. The person at the reception wasn’t too friendly.
There were plenty shops and restaurants nearby though.

The Building has no indication that it is a hotel. You wouldn't know it unless you know the address. There is no lobby as the hotel part of this building starts on the 4th floor. The absolute worst part was the elevator did not work, so had to carry 2 full bags up 4 floors. the our room was 1 more up on the 5th floor. this was a brutal walk up and down for older folks like us. Staff was nice, thankfully and the room was clean.

We weren’t informed that the lift wasn’t working and lugging a suitcase up four flights of stairs wasn’t easy! A kettle in the room would have been nice!
On a positive note the staff were really nice and very polite,the room was clean and being in a city remarkably quiet and very convenient for travelling around.

I had one of the worst experiences at Fontanella Green House, especially considering this was my final night before an early morning flight.
I specifically chose this place because it advertised having an elevator, which was important for us with luggage. However, the elevator had clearly been out of service for a long time, and we had to carry our bags up four floors. What made this worse was that the day before arrival, I was still instructed via message to use the elevator — while in reality, it was under full construction.
The situation inside the property was even more disappointing. Our room was located right next to the reception area, and there was constant loud noise from construction work — including drilling — as they were apparently trying to fix the elevator. This made it impossible to rest.
Throughout the night, there was also continuous noise from the reception area, with people talking loudly and frequent disturbances from guests coming and going. There was absolutely no sound insulation, and every noise carried directly into the room.
Since we had to wake up at 6 AM for our flight, getting proper rest was essential, but this stay made that impossible.
This property is misleading in its listing and completely unsuitable for anyone who values rest, especially before an early flight. I would not recommend staying here.

They texted the day before asking when I was coming. I said approximately 9:30, I need to drop off my luggage. No one said anything that the elevator was broke. I find out when I got there. To get up to them you have to walk up 4 flights of stairs. I am disabled. The only staff member on duty looked put out to carry my luggage up. He roughly bouncing them on the stairs. When I got upstairs and finished my registration I was exhausted. He then told me everything was good. I just needed to come back after 3 PM to pick up my key. I had asked when the elevator was going to be fixed, he said that afternoon. I climb down the 4 flights of stairs. I got souvenirs for my family. Had coffee close by and killed some time there. By the time 4 pm came around I walked past the vestibule and see that the elevator is still out of order. So I decided there would be no going out for dinner. I walked a block down the street to a supermarket and purchased a few things that could eat for my dinner. Then 4 flights of stairs again. Get my key and sit in my room for 16 hrs. At checkout still no elevator. Same guy from day before told me to have my taxi/Uber come up and get my luggage. I told him they don’t do that. He looked pissed, he had to carry my luggage. He dragged them down all four flights. I am very surprised I didn’t lose a wheel. He left my stuff at the street while I slowly came down and can’t see my stuff. NEVER AGAIN!!! Room was clean with Juliet balcony
