Melia Benidorm

Nice hotel with lovely pool area

Drab, dated, and dirty. Rude staff. Improperly labelled food. Meat and dairy hidden amongst “vegan” dishes. Terrible local area.

It was ok some parts dirty and far out for location

Rooms not clean,sheets not changed,the gym has hardly any equipment.

Loved our stay at the Melia, the outdoor pool is amazing! The staff is also outstanding!

Meliá has a big hotel structure in Benidorm. Facility and amenities are nice but the service is strictly by the book and such a big hotel quite crowded, make it not enjoyable. Check in was only allowed after 4pm, the big and nice swimming pool premises were closed at 8pm, having staff “pushing”us out of there even before the hour (no chance to, at least, stay there enjoying the end of the afternoon). Breakfast got a wide variety of food and drink but the quantity of people served there goes against the quality and comfort to make it enjoyable. Once again, staff was punctually closing doors … Finally, check out was 12pm sharp, having staff 15 minutes before the hour, knocking the door to remind us to leave Definitively, not a nice experience for us

Always love this hotel in a great area

We have been visiting Benidorm every year for the past 15 years (allowing for the pandemic) and for most of those visits we stay at the Melia, however I am sorry to say that this will be the last time we stay here. The hotel itself is lovely, the staff and amenities are great, but the “all inclusive” nature of the hotel has produced a drop in standards that you would never have experienced before the all inclusive option was available. Typical examples of this include the 9am race for sunbeds, people actually racing each other to get a sunbed, then the inevitable arguments when someone gets a bed someone else wanted! Also people walking around inside the hotel in shorts or bikinis, when I asked a member of staff about this they said that they don’t even try to enforce the dress code any longer because the guests argue about the rule. I like the Melia but I will now stay somewhere else that maintains standards rather that give in to the clientele it’s attracting

The hotel was very very busy and check out took a very very long time. There were only 2 staff on checkout, not enough for the size of the hotel

We have stayed at this hotel a few times when we have been to Benidorm and we are very comfortable there the staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are very nice we choose to have bed and breakfast and the food at breakfast is quality and a lovely selection for everyone for everyone we will definitely stay there again

‘The Level’ Benidorm was excellent. Reception/bar staff were friendly, very helpful and knowledgable. They recommended a wonderful restaurant for our last night.

The Hotel was very clean spacious and has everything you need for a good holiday. Great pool, a lovely little gift shop and spa, the Entertainment was very good in the evenings. Great for families, the bar prices where fair i felt. I really enjoyed the Breakfast lots of choice to have and the cofffee was nice. Our room was clean and Tidy but for two nights i didnt sleeo to well every time i turned over the bed moved with me it was as if it slid a cross the floor. I was going to speak to the reception to ask for this to be fixed but the next day it was the way it should be. I think someone realised in house keeping and fixed the bed. Anyway apart from that it was a lovely stay at the Hotel and all the staff where very helpful and friendly and made us feel welcome.

Hotel is in a perfect location, room was comfortable and clean. Food choice was good. Issues are with the staff. The bar staff are incredibly rude. Prices change day to day. If they see cash then pice is always higher. Male bar staff are inappropriately nice to women to the point of being creepy.

Excellent peaceful base for a Benidorm trip

Breakfast had lots of options and was good. The beds were big and comfortable but we had a major issue with housekeeping. On the second day, I had to chase reception so our room would be cleaned, and when they went, they didn't even empty the bins which were full to the top with dirty nappies. On the third day, I had to chase again. After loads of chasing, housekeeping came with towels and weren't even going to change the sheets, I had to ask for the sheets to be changed. On the fourth night, again our room was neglected and not done. I had to speak to guest experience and they said our room would be done at 11am but it wasn't and I had to complain once again. Housekeeping did our room at half past 12 after I complained. They were very apologetic and gave us cheese and a bottle of champagne and let us do free late check out but the champagne was left in the room because we had our 7 month old with us so we weren't going to drink. Besides that bad experience, we enjoyed the outdoor pool, which has a massive area to lay in the sun and the pools are quite big. Only disappointing factor is that they only open the pool at 9am. Would have been nice to be able to enjoy it earlier in the morning. For a 4star hotel I expected better. Management did have good intentions with their offerings but in the end it didn't really compensate for what we went through.

The mattress and pillows are aleays amazing at the Melia hotel chain.

Plenty of food available for breakfast but not that good of quality. Apart from that it was quite a nice hotel but noisy with the downstairs entertainment. But that’s to be expected. Overall half decent hotel.

Could do with an update yea and coffee not replaced in rooms and rooms were cold

Without doubt. The best hotel we've stayed in when coming to Benidorm. Check in staff friendly and helpful. Dining room staff the same. Rooms modern, clean and plenty of room. Will definitely stay ahain.
