What Guests Say About Their Stay

This was our favourite place to stay during our trip to Europe. This property is amazing and the views are incredible. The staff understand old-fashioned hospitality without being stuffy. They are friendly, helpful, and have wonderful senses of humour. And they were incredibly tolerant of my clumsy Spanish. This is an old school luxury hotel — I don’t imagine a lot has changed since it first opened. It is a bit of a time capsule in the best possible way. Some reviews speak to it needing to be refreshed or renovated. No, absolutely not. Everything is well-maintained and functional and clean. Its older aesthetic is what gives it its charm. Who wants sterile, bland, generic, Insta-influencer “style” when you can have this charming and authentic piece of history that is exploding with character? We fully relaxed here. After opening the big, beautiful, wooden door to our room, we were greeted with a personal note from management and beautiful orange cake. Our room was impeccably clean, exquisitely quiet, and comfortable. It had a private balcony with sun chairs and a retractable sun shade. The restaurant had incredible food and we had an amazing view from our table. Breakfast was delicious. Dinners were divine. The hotel is a good walk to Malaga’s Old Town. Wear sensible shoes and SPF and do some cardio or take a bus, car, bike, taxi, or tuk tuk. There’s a fabulous little pool at the hotel and it’s super refreshing after a day of walking. We loved it & would stay again.

The hotel was excellent - breakfast was fabulous both cooked and buffet available. Rooms were clean and spacious with fabulous view over the marina and up to the castle The one thing I would say the hotel is lacking is a roof top bar / drinks available at the pool even for a soft drink you have to go downstairs to the front bar . Also a snack bar would be very accommodating even just for fruit or a bowl of fries !! The views from the pool are stunning and definitely would recommend the hotel. The steep walk up and down to Malaga centre is not for the faint hearted or infirm a taxi / uber would be more acceptable!!!

Beautiful views, charming older hotel. Not central but a path is there to bring you down to the center.....albeit it's fairly steep. Only downside I would say is that there is no service at the pool. The restaurant is very good.

Lovely experience with friendly staff, spotlessly clean rooms and public areas, great food and probably the best views in Malaga! Easy access by local bus (hourly during the day) if you don't fancy the walk. Need to book a table in advance if you want to enjoy your meal on the restaurant balcony. A top class Parador!

I was charmed by this Parador. So beautiful. Loved breakfast on the terrace with amazing views over Malaga and the Med. Great little pool with sun-beds on the rooftop. Also a very handy bus stop close to the Parador. So easy to go into busy Malaga centre then back to the peace of the Parador.

Best views you can get in Malaga. The pool was a tad run down and wish it had access to drinks, even water would be nice. Sunsets were incredible. Walking down into town is doable but not ideal with slope and stairs. Uber on the way up from town is a must. I would have loved the hotel to have a market to purchase simple items like sunscreen or chips, since nothing is nearby. A bit touristy people hanging out front with the castle and all… But a lovely stay, really pretty exterior, full-length mirrors in the room and helpful staff.

Super views of malaga. Looks lovely on arrival. Reception inviting and staff welcoming. Rooms a little dull but clean. Cafe bar service poor and hit and miss. Breakfast mediocre but adequate enough.

Lovely hotel & very comfortable. Helpful reception staff. Good breakfast. Wider menu selection would have been better for lunch & evening meal. Difficult to catch attention of bar staff in the snack bar.

The hotel needs an update in the property condition and improvement in staff attitude. They could not find our dinner reservation made through the reception (even though they specified the time for the table ready). The food did not come after 40 minutes and we were the last who got served bread. The room desperately needed sound proofing. The sound that our next door and upstaires guest made us feel that we are sitting in the train station. When I told the reception about the water sound, the staff said they can ask the guest to be quiet. There were other issues with stained sofa, uneven surface table top. I suggest the prospective guests take our experiences into consideration.
