Odd little hotel, pleasant attentive staff. Poor menu below average food

Lovely hotel.. This is not 5* hotel - if that's your thing... It had a TV, but it didn't work. Cracked plug socket/curtain rail holder missing etc.. I bit tired in places. But, the staff were friendly, the room/s were large - and clean. If you want a place to stay a short walk from the beach and near restaurants, then this is a good place to stay. A couple of pools too. We went pre-season, so were lucky to be here with not many others using the facilities.

Average hotel, no staff after 9pm and can't find help

Stayed here many time. Staff amazing and place really beautiful. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Unawatuna. Good Wi-Fi in communal areas (doesn’t quite reach all rooms). The eco friendly question hotels.com asks is difficult to answer. They give lots of bottled water, which I guess isn’t very eco-friendly - but that is what tourists want. I guess maybe if they had a large central water dispenser people could refill bottles for that would reduce plastic use. I think some tourists might complain though. It is a difficult issue for a Sri Lankan hotel

Wonderful views of the jungle and tons of wildlife just a few steps from your room. Beautiful pools and area.

We stayed for 5 nights. Generally the stay was good but the hotel was a let down a little by the cleanliness of the rooms and that it felt a little tired. Service was good and any issues we had (noisy room and broken bathroom door) were sorted quickly enough. Wifi only worked close to the common areas in the hotel, our rooms were too far away.

We booked the luxury penthouse suit only to discover it was across from the main hotel and up 2 sets of spiral staircases. The room was small and dark the bathroom has a terrible smell with the bath leaking everywhere due it having a crack. Asked for our money back after 1 night as we were due to stay 6 after standing my ground the gave a some of our money back .

The property is average but a crowded place with 2 swimming pools and littl garden. The room we booked, Super Deluxe Cabana, was a larger room the nect level down seemed better value. The WiFi is only avaalable around the pool and lobby area which was a bit incovenient. When we arrived the re was a broken chair in the room only one glass, none in the bathroom no spoon for tea/coffee making aircon ws note really big enough for the space. Most of this was rectified but needed the manager, who was not a very friendly sole and evasive, to intervene.

A 3* hotel that is comfortable and 10 min by walk from the beach. Nice restaurants in the area and good breakfast.

Good location within close distance to bars and restaurants. Hotel has lovely public areas - gardens are beautiful, 2 lovely pools with sun loungers and umbrellas, dining and bar area clean and welcoming. All staff were very pleasant and professional. Good choice of breakfast items and all very tasty. We only eat dinner one evening at the hotel but food was plentiful and well presented and good quality. We were early for check-in and were given a welcome drink and cold towel and the staff worked quickly to getting us in quickly, and we were given a free upgrade of room. There were only 2 downsides - the jacuzzi bath (with overhead shower) was cracked so you had to be careful were you stood when having a shower, and a couple of the room chairs were broken . Very small items and these didn't spoil the overall experience. Overall, it's a lovely hotel and very good value for money.

Very nice hotel it’s in the center of everything. Beach is also close to the hotel . The breakfast was too good . Had a wonderful time and will definitely stay again if we visit again

Beautiful gardens lovely food and good selection at breakfast. 2 stunning pools and very nice clean rooms. Very spacious and nice porch to relax in. Good WiFi and quiet hotel with very friendly staff

First impression when we got to our room was not so good as we were in the main older building. We were upgraded to a super deluxe room which was huge with a kitchen and lounge area but it was very dark so at first we though not so good (quantity over quality). But, after all curtains and nets were opened and lights put on we realised how lucky we were. Our own massive private balcony overlooking one of the pools was great. Nice to be able to sit in the lounge part when the heat on the balcony proved too much. Two nice pools, nice relaxed atmosphere. Great breakfast, best out of the 7 other hotels we used throughout our tour of Sri Lanka by a good measure. Location is very good with lots of little and great restaurants on your doorstep. Short walk to the beach and nice bars etc there. Overall very happy and would return is ever back in the area.

Lovely place to stay, 2 pools and really friendly helpful staff. Pleasant walk to beach with little tourist shops & restaurants along the way. Tuk Tuk from railway station is 500r...no more!

This hotel was the biggest disappointment of our trip. The rooms were fine but a little dirty and the bathroom needed a really good scrub. The location was fine, facilities were fine but the pool was really cloudy/dirty on our 3rd day there and after telling staff twice they did nothing. There didn't seem to be a manager at this hotel and the staff are what really let it down...if this hotel was properly run it could have been great. The staff here just really don't seem to care about their guests at all.

Close to beach area. Very hospitable. Friendly staff. Would come here again.

A lovely hotel set in beautiful gardens . We had a lovely room with a large balcony overlooking the beautiful swimming pool. We enjoyed 2 excellent fresh fish dinners and delicious breakfasts. We look forward to coming back here one day and will definitely be recommending this hotel to our friends

We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. It is a little bit of a walk to the beach but wasn't, a problem for us. Lovely pool and we are in the hotel one night which had a good selection of steak options which was a great change from the norm and was very tasty. Also nice friendly service from staff
