Dated hotel but good service and excellent hot springs

Very nice hotel

Loud AC sound blast in early morning during first night stay, changed room only to experience no hot water the second night for hours

The hotel has several termal pools open to guesst 'till 10 PM, they have different temperature you can choose between. After going around the whole day for sightseeing, you can relax in one of the pool, before going to sleep.

Pros: We have been here many years ago, and it’s still a great place for public outdoor hot springs for mixed gender. We went at night and there was nobody so we had the pools to ourselves! Private hot spring in the room is excellent with traditional stone construction. Excellent hot spring water temperature and soak. The hotel is a bit dated but we like its vintage facilities - giving it a cool historical vibe. Bonus is that the hotel offers free shuttle rides to and from Beitou station so you don’t have to walk. Staff is beyond excellent! Super helpful and friendly. Impeccable. They deserve 10 stars. Cons: We were not impressed by the food. We had dinner at the Japanese restaurant and it took 30 minutes for a hot dish to come out. The staff was extremely accommodating and gave us free hand rolls which we appreciated. But their kitchen needs some improvements. As for free breakfast buffet, many of the dishes were lukewarm and not hot. They should also cover cold fruits and salads since other guests were walking around and coughing. So that could be improved as well.

Friendly staff

When I arrived, they were very welcoming and attentive. They helped me with my luggage, and made sure I would be safe to use the hot tub alone. The rooms have a tub with hot tub capabilities. It was excellent. The TV has Netflix the bed was comfortable. I used the room with 2 twin beds because it was the only one available. I went to breakfast the next morning and they walk you to your table. Self serve buffet. However, they asked to make sure I was alright and enjoyed the food. Super sweet people. I will stay there again!

The hotel restaurant prepared a delicious take out breakfast for me because I had to leave for the airport before the restraunt opens. It was really nice!

It's a hot spring hotel with good tubs for exterior hot spring. Staff is very good and breakfast was liked brunch. There's shuttle service to bring you to the subway station. The hotel is very old and renovation should be top priority.

The hotel wasn't what we expected, especially compared with the price. It's quite a famous hotel in Taipei, however the room was not great. Breakfast was not bad.

great outdoor hot spring pools. These are real hot springs, well kept and are closed every Wednesday for disinfection. Breakfast is about average, and the Japanese restaurant is good, but a bit pricey for Taiwan. They allow you to trade your included breakfast coupon $150 Taiwan dollars (about $5 US) for lunch at the Japanese restaurant. Check their one night for 2 person promotions. Overall, is a good place, close to Taipei, free shuttle to the Beitou MRT and the staff is just great.

There was no early check in when we arrived at 1.45pm. We came straight from the airport and would be grateful if there was an early check in as we were very tired. We waited till 3pm for the check in. However, the hotel service was good and we had a great stay enjoying the hot spring pools. Would be better if the shuttle service is more frequent. The lobby area is also rather dated and should have a ramp for bringing the luggage up to the second floor.

We enjoyed our stay everyrhing was good for us. We would recommened to others.

The hotel itself is nice and the facilities were great. However we cannot sleep at all at night. When neighbors hot spring are on, we can hear the water flowing very loud and the whole room is full of the hot spring smell. Can tell the air conditioning system are all linked and the room get really hot and no windows can open. Very old and outdated hotel. Need to be refurbished.
