The hotel itself looks like an old fashion styled tainan hotel and it was grand. There were plenty of facilities that can be used for free. We hired their bikes to ride around the anping area which was convenient as it was sweltering hot and out of the blue it rained heavily as well so we could go straight back to hotel in a jiffy. We needed to wash out clothed and there was a laundry self serve facility to wash and tumble dry for 70-80 twd. The staff were helpful in getting us taxis when asked to call up. Overall it was a great experience and an enjoyable one.

We were assigned room 511 which turns out to be the top floor of the hotel as the higher levels are not part of the hotel. Be advised, location was fine for us as we wanted to be closer to the ocean but it was not central enough for the friends traveling with us. Also, there can be a foul smell from the canal. Front desk staff were all friendly and helpful and seem to really enjoy working with each other (special mention for Rika who escorted us on our departure). However, the breakfast dinning room staff were all without any personality. Also, the food served for breakfast offers slim pickings for Western travelers - even for my partner who is quite use to Asian food (whereby resulting in a 3 rating). Some of the pluses are - a free laundry on the 3rd Floor + a Hong Kong style Dim Sum Restaurant offering an all-you-can-eat format and best of all - C'est Cafe' by Lisa Wu, providing a bit of relief with cold drinks and 'Lite Bite'!

Very well staffed hotel. Rooms was better than expected. Not in the city center. However, it's only a short taxi ride. Close to historical street market and located next to the river. Definitely would book again if in Tainan again.

Hotel is typical old Chinese. Needs updating. Room 526 was barely tolerable, dark, window blocked and obscured, towels frayed, somewhat noisy, terrible breakfast, extremely old and dirty toaster. Decidedly overpriced. Staff efficient and mostly English speaking. Hotel is far from downtown, bus or taxi required. The worse stay in our Taiwan experience.

Really nothing more needs to be said than this. The room was a little dank, and even more so after i left my smelly soccer stuff in there overnight. The beds - awesome. I loved both beds in my room so much, I slept in both of them. Simultaneously. But that breakfast? You're having a laugh. Buffet it may well have been, but after walking around twice, and finding nothing that would please anyone from a civilised world, I decided to head across the road to the 7-eleven for coffee and cookies. Free internet is good although good luck in working out the TV remote controls!
