One of the best place in town. beautiful decoration in all area. I love the furnitures, the view to Mae Ping. mineral water pool, etc just awesome!
Nice place like home away from home
That's good. I recommend this place if you'd like to escape from complexity.
Serene atmosphere, polite & helpful staff, comfy bed and many-spaced toilet.
Beautiful decoration. Beautiful surrounding. But should have more choices for breakfast
Very worth to stay. Nice and clean. But can hear the sound from next door. And, bottle waters is not free. In my opinion, a bit far if you're not driving.
Everything was nice only Wi-Fi not working
A very good and beautiful hotel.

Romantic Retreat Away From it All
Here's what we loved about our 2 day stay: + The hotel is an experience in and of itself + Beautiful setting with one of a kind rooms and the carefully manicured surrounding environment + Service is incredible + Romantic location + Photos, art, and architecture is stunning + Great place to forgot about the hustle and busy pace of city life + I was quite sick when I arrived and couldn't try out the food, but my wife said it was great Here's what we thought could be improved: - Nothing. Yes... it is far from most happening spots, but that's kind of the point. General Recommendations: Bring a loved one, a camera, and a book. Paradise for a short stay. Overall: If you aren't intent on staying downtown in Chiang Mai, you should really give the Marndadee serious consideration. For the right person or couple, this place could easily be one of your favorite spots in Thailand. We live in Thailand (outside Bangkok) and have visited Chiang Mai often...this is one of our favourite spots.

Perfect :)
We stayed at Marndadee some time ago now when the hotel first opened- we enjoyed every aspect. We travelled into Chang Mai for the festival of light and had an amazing time. The food at Marndadee was perfect also.

The Pics are Legit!
This property is world class. Usually hotel pictures aren't the real thing, but at Marndadee, it is truly as the pictures show. Rice paddies all around, the décor is well-thought out (even in the workout room). I would like to come back here about 10 more times to stay in each of the different rice barn villas. The food was really good, lots of good options, breakfast was the same with good western and Thai choices. The service is as you expect in Thailand, first rate. The mattress is not a "heavenly bed," but it is better than most of the ones you encounter in Thailand.

Peaceful, clean and great rooms
We stayed as part of our honeymoon trip around SE Asia and really enjoyed our time here. The rooms are fantastic and very clean. We had a Thai massage which was very good but a little overpriced. The craft activity is definitely worth a go and the food at breakfast and dinner was nice. The staff were very accommodating and left us a pandan leaf bouquet on our bed for our honeymoon. We cannot fault the ambience at the hotel and the only thing I would say is (and it's the same with most hotels) that you pay hotel prices for everything when you're there.

Great Relaxed Place, Superb Service!
We had a great stay this summer at the Marndadee in one of the wooden rice barns. These houses are just beautiful, stylish, romantic and clean. Bed and bathroom are great and each house has a balcony, where you can look over the Ping-river. Downstairs you even have your own chill place in the shadow, with a hammoch and nice chairs. There is also a nice gym on the resort, where you can work out. The pool has a river-view too and is really nice, so is the restaurant. Be aware do that they really make the food here northern style, so If you don’t like your chicken with skin on in, order something else. I myself for example don’t like this more rough thai-food, so I mostly eat the western menu or the vegetarian options here, which is no problem because they are also really good. Breakfast is so-so, it’s okay, but like most places in Thailand, the western breakfast is not really good. Coffee is ok, but the coffee you get in the restaurant is much better, actually that one is really good. The staff is really kind, warm en welcoming. They are always very helpful. Special mention is there for Agnes, who is one of the best in hospitality we’ve met during our whole trip in Thailand. She imediately remembers your names, what kind of food and drink you like and she is great to talk with, but also knows when to give you privacy as a guest. Just superb service. She and her collegues made our stay so great! The place is quite a bit out of town, so I would suggest to book this hotel to have a couple of relaxed days in Chiang Mai, not if you want to go to the old town every day. We first went to another hotel nearby the old town, did three days of the old town and after that we came to Marnadee to relax. It’s possible to bike around, the hotel offers you free bikes, or you can have a walk. Be careful with biking though, traffic can be dangerous, stay close to the side of the road, when you go to the wooden-market. All together I would highly recommend this place. Besides small improvements to breakfast, this is just a perfect, welcoming place for a relaxed and romantic time.
