very nice stay
Very nice and small family run bungalow resort, located at a nice beach. Room spacious with balcony with seaview. Please note: whole Ko Tao is hilly, same here. So expect some stairs to walk. Good restaurant with friendly people and nice food. Not the right place if you seek for massive luxury, but perfect if you want to have some quite days in a nice area. If you want use the pool at the neighboring hotel. Rooms are clean at demand. Mini-shop 3minutes away, more restaurants, supermarket etc 15min by foot in neighboring bay. Nice little bar at the beach, 20m to the right. Can definitely recommend the place.

Overpriced, cannot recommend this place
I don't like do write a poor review but I feel a warning to others is warranted. We booked for 2 nights but left after 1 with no refund. Management advise they pick up and return to the ferry at no charge; we requested pickup 2 days in advance but no one was at the ferry to meet us so we had to pay 500 baht for a taxi. When we arrived no one is at the reception area at the top of the property so after much calling out and walking around we finally managed to find someone to book us in, they didn't seem to know what to do with us and had to make a call to management to confirm the booking. The room is very basic, huge gaps in the floorboards so you are prey to mosquitoes and other critters, very hard mattress and very hard pillows. Cold water for showers, the hot didn't work. Electric kettle is for boiling your own water, no tea or coffee provided and no bottled water. The room safe was a very light tin box which wasn't bolted down so anyone can just put it under their arm and walk off with it, so we had to carry all cash, passports, cards, etc. everywhere we went. Bring cash with you as they won't accept cards. Only Thai channels on the little TV. No wifi in the rooms and bring your own adapter for your electronics use in the 'restaurant'. I feel that none of this is the fault of the staff who are lovely and they cook good food, rather it is management who operate remotely. Further, there are a lot of steps from the road to the rooms and restaurant so not great for someone not too ambulant or in wet weather. We have moved further down the beach to a beautiful small 4 star resort right on the beach, the rooms are huge and clean and we are paying exactly the same price as we did at PD so it's hard to understand how they can justify the price they charge. We have stayed on many islands in South East Asia and the South Pacific, we are not backpackers nor are we luxury resort enthusiasts but this place is one of the worst for the price.

Restaurant review
We spent the day by the beach and had lunch at PD Resort restaurant. Food was delicious and the owners were very friendly. We had deep fried breaded chicken with Thai chilli sauce, Panang curry shrimp and mixed vegetables. The chicken was tender and juicy.. delicious!

Awesome Pad thai
Came to this restaurant almost by accident as the bungalows where we were staying (sunset bungalows) had the restaurant closed -by the way, try to avoid those, really dirty and old....- What a surprise the quality of the food and the amazing views and the tranquility we experienced! I had the Pad Thai with sea food and it was delicious. I would recommend anyone in the area to try to go there even for a drink and enjoy the sunset from this really good quiet location.

Nice restaurant!
We did not stay in the PD resort but in a resort next door. We did however enjoy the restaurant of the PD resort which is really fantastic with authentic Thai food! Some of the best food we ate during our stay in Thailand!
