Terrible staff
Stayed here for 5 nights in total. At first looked nice for the price, the view is good and very close to a good beach. However the staff is really grumpy, unfriendly and does not speak English. In the end they even wanted to charge 500 baht because the room was not left clean by us. Definitely do not pay this! They could not show any dirt or whatever. The restaurant is mediocre at best and is relatively pricy. Tubtim restaurant (same beach) is better and is even cheaper.

Could be so much better but is not.
My boyfriend and I arrived to Ko Semet and decided to find accommodation by just walking along the beach. First got told it's 800 baht for a night for a bungalow but after haggling price for 5 night agreed to pay 650 for a night and after a nights sleep we were so happy that we didn't pay anything more. The place seems to be very ran down. As previous reviews mention the quality of facilities and bungalows themselves is very poor. Our bungalow is alright - no thrills - large hard bed and a fan. Fridge that is very good I must say and water that smells of old eggs. Also our bungalow seems to be just of path and on weekends people from Bangkok come here to party so sleeping isn't that sound as constant traffic on the path is very loud and Trio caffe he a very loud music playing closely to 20 hours in a day. The bad part definitely is the staff - maybe it's just me but they are very rude. When I asked how much is to rent a body board I got told it's 50 baht. The next day I asked again and suddenly it was 100baht (??) when I asked about the sun chairs they are 100 baht per person... ( guy who stays in the next cabin he's Thai and he's paying 50 baht for the chair) I ended up renting chairs from the Tubtim ( only 2 minutes form pudsa) for 30 baht. When I went to speak to the manager about these price differences she said that it's because the Thai guy is not a guest (so it's cheaper for non guests?) when I said to her that he is a guest and when I asked her is it because I am a white girl and a tourist she just looked away. The restaurant is very overpriced as well and you can find cheaper food and drink in places nearby. If you are willing to pay a 1000 baht you can get a room with aircon in a nearby Samed Villa resort ... checked prices for this place on booking.com and can't imagine what makes this place think they can charge more at place like this than a proper costumer service orientated next door villa. Would not recommend at all and very happy that we didn't pay more than we did.

Holiday
Tired, very tired. Could do with a good lick of paint and some tlc We ended up here because of forecast bad weather in Koh Lanta. Bit of a treck to get there, taxi from Bangkok to Rayon then speed boat to the front of the hotel. Our first impression was grim - oh dear what have we done, but as the week went on we became used to the idiosyncrasies of this sleepy island. Did we enjoy our time there, yes we did. Would we go back again, no.

Good value
I had a sea view near beach for 700B/$20 a night because I paid three days in advance. Daily is 800B. Hot water ensuite and fan. Those on beach cost 1,000B. There is a reasonable restaurant and Trio bar next to it that is open until about 1am with music. This is the quieter end of the island but popular with British expats at weekends but even then only a few repeat visitors. No wifi. Staff not too good For even more quiet walk 10 min to the next beach but no attached bathrooms there.
