Phenomenal attention to detail, Lovely place, you'll want to return
VERY friendly staff, in a country well provided for that this hotel stands above the norm. Super spacious, comfortable rooms, many situated around a lily covered lake. Infinity pool with views to mountains and an ancient stupa. Excellent spa. Top dinner options, (Thai and international if you must), and breakfast eggs cooked to order rather than the oft elsewhere offered Pirelli or Yokohama buffet variety, nothing is too much trouble. But I hear you moan, what about mosquitos with all that water around? They have thought of that too ..... No where else have I seen a fully charged ready to go mossie (tennis racket) zapper in the room, should one deign to come in to your room. I was disappointed not to have chance to use it!! One very slight annoyance worth putting up with for the general excellence, there is plenty of hot water for the shower, it's just more akin to a trickle than a shower. Well done leaders and all the team.

New hotel with a beautiful Sukhothai design
We come to Sukhothai once a year and this year decided to try out Sriwilai which is the newest hotel recently opened in the beginning of 2017. Sriwilai is easy to find, located on the main road about 2kms before reaching the historical park. The grounds are spacious and there is plenty of parking space. At first we booked 2 rooms, for our party of 2 adults and 2 kids, but when we arrived we asked for a large one room option and were shown the 2 suites. The suites are large with a spacious bathroom with bathtub, so we changed our minds and took it. One suite was able to take two rollaway beds which is convenient. More importantly, the view from the suite is the highlight of the hotel, with an old and well preserved pagoda right outside the hotel wall (which is by the way made with red bricks to give a Sukhothai feel). Lots of bottled water is provided free, which I personally think is important and like. There are no convenience stores within walking distance, the closest ones are near the historical park. The pool is massive while the water used some latest technology filtering system (apparently no chlorine or salt - I can't explain it but the water felt really good on my skin and non irritating). Breakfast in the restaurant was nothing special, while dinner was average. Not a big deal for us as we usually go out for meals - especially the delicious Sukhothai noodles. The only problems we faced were small ones, like the fridge not working and the hot water as well not stable from the various faucets. Otherwise, this is a great choice for Sukhothai. Cost of the hotel is high, for Sukhothai, but coming from Bangkok it is good value for money.

Beautiful view, nice room and very good service
We booked one suite room and one deluxe room. The views for both rooms are exotic. The location is closed to the historic park around 2 kms from the hotel. The hotel provided a bicycle to ride to the park for free. The restaurant is good, but less choice of menu to choose. The best season to go should be around December to February.

Needs Management!!!
This is an 8 month old property and is quite nice. It is very close to the Historical Park but a bit far to walk. The front desk arranged for a tuk-tuk to take me all around the park for 400 baht/2 hours. It is almost always very hot there so the tuk-tuk is a nice alternative to using a bicycle to get around the park. The one negative to this hotel IS the fact that it is so new. There are several little things that need improvement and no one seems to understand how to make that happen. They need a real hotel manager to step-up and turn this into a great hotel.

Beautiful new property with problems
This is a beautiful resort in a gorgeous and very historical part of upcountry Thailand. The rooms are great, the views are great. However, it's been open for over half a year and has a spa that isn't open yet even though the signs are there as if it is, a pool that needs cleaning and a poolside bar/bistro that is never open. The bikes are free but the one I rode was so worn out it felt that there was gravel in the main crank and the brakes require a lot of pressure and some planning to stop. The restaurant is great. Very slow service but a terrific chef and great food. No hot water. We told the manager and he only said, "yeah, I know what the problem is". Next two days still no hot water. Bottom line is that this hotel is obviously owned be an American because they have only Ford vehicles and it's severely understaffed which is odd for Thailand. Centipedes in the shower and geckos don't bother me but beware.
