Brandywine River Hotel

Choice the option to pay at hotel as my friend and I split it. 48 hours prior to check in they charged my card causing bank fee. When I brought it up they said it was their policy to charge 48 hour then turned around blamed it on Hotels.com for charging my card. Waffle maker didn’t work and kicker, when I asked maid for towel she stated “no speak English”.

Great location. Very clean.

This is a nice hotel. Two things: they need to up their coffee game. All they have are the pots on warmers and no lids for larger size cups. Also no juice machine… just a small refrigerator to keep glass pitchers cold. Not a whole lot of breakfast choices. No one mans the desk at night so of course no fresh coffee. Nice small gym. No microwave in room but there is a large breakfast room open all the time so you can use the one in there.

Love the self check in and codes on all the doors. Very cute place.

This is our go-to hotel for an overnight getaway Rooms are clean and comfortable. Front desk staff were very helpful in recommending local restaurants serving great food.

A very quick trip to meet friends at Longwood Gardens, so the hotel was just a place to hang our hat for 1 night. The hotel was clean and looked somewhat newly upgraded. Staff was friendly and helpful. Bed was comfy. Continental breakfast was fine. Easy to check in with a key code sent by text prior to our arrival , although there was staff at the front desk.

Nice small hotel so service is on point and not a crowd to deal with. Nice amenities nearby. Quiet. Good nights rest. Nice breakfast- good coffee.

Love the tech aspect, code on rooms instead of keys, outside door as well. The only downside is that "Breakfast" is advertised...it's really a continental breakfast, the only protein were boiled eggs and yogurt.

Staff are very kind and friendly. They set up breakfast (and coffee!!!!) earlier than most hotels. Cute shops and cafe next door, as well as restaurants for dinner. Only complaint would be dirty parking lot, and some repairs needed to be done outside entrance. The inside is very nice, I wish it was more accurately reflected outside. I would recommend this hotel.

Hospitality, taste, friendlyness, perfect in every way

Just what I was looking for after going to the Longwood Gardens. I especially liked how easy the check-in process was. I enjoyed my stay and would return.

clean, great location

I like the country style hotel, small, but nice and warm. We checked in late, and Troy was good to welcome our arrival, and the location is perfect for our next day visit of Longwood Garden in early morning

There was no staff at the property when we got there. We had a code to get in and then a code for our room. Without our 32 year old son we might not have succeeded in getting in. The hotel was nice but I was supposed to have ordered a roll away bed and there was no one to help us. This was my bad but if they had staff we could have corrected the problem. During the day they seemed to have the same one staff member doing everything. Breakfast. Minding the front desk. All sorts of things. He wasn't very available for problems as they came in. Overall I liked the hotel but I found the lack off staff disconcerting.
