Not sure if we got there at a bad time, but the whole town was full of flying little black bugs. This made it hard to enjoy anything about the area. The hotel itself is great. Very comfortable and clean, and truly the bug issue was very much out of the hotel’s control, but still affects the experience.

Great newer hotel. Very clean and inviting. Rooms are nice and the room balcony and lobby is very nice overlooking the lake and Mackinac Island. We were thinking that it reminds us of a cruise ship with the patio opened at night. Although because of the sound of others air or heat running we couldn’t hear the waves that much. The free breakfast had biscuits and gravy, small egg omelets with cheese, make your own waffles (with fruit topping), cereals, pastries, bread and drinks. Sufficient before heading to the island in the morning. Great one night stay for us.

As soon as you walked into the hotel it stunk. Dead flies all over by the entrance, some one could of swept them up.
"Carlos" that checked us in was very rude. We had requested a lake side room, nothing was ready he said, pool was dirty and when I walked back to the desk to tell him we couldn't get teh hot tub to work, he said "I'm alone, what do you want me to do about it? When he figured out I wasn't taking that answer he went to the hot tub, called someone and got it going and just left. Said nothing! Never will stay there again.

Brand new hotel. Great views. Very nice rooms. Great breakfast. The hotel had a bar but it was a work in progress on that they had a limited selection of offerings.
