Beautiful property, comfortable decor, complete fitness center, large quiet room (ADA accessible. Not needed, but nice. It's probably why there were only two chairs, one office, one side.) coffee in the room and 24 hours in the lobby. Full breakfast every morning. Great place!

Elevator was broken and they put us on the third floor. So we had to take luggage up 3 flights of stairs. They did not offer any accommodations.

So, there are a few La Quintas in McAllen and I have pretty much stayed in them all. I'd say, quality-wise, they are all within 20% of each other and price-wise they are always very similar. That said, the one near the Convention Center (which is like 5 minutes away) is a good step up from this property, so stay there if the price is close. That said, this place is perfectly fine and about on par what you would expect from a La Quinta, which is no frills but clean and perfectly acceptable. I'd stay here again if my other places in the RGV weren't available.

Prospective customers should be notified if the elevators will not be functional for several days.
The 1 st room that I was given had a plumbing problem with a persistent sewerage odor from the toilet.

Not as good as expected with 9.2 rating. elevators were broken both mornings and at 65 years old had to carry suitcases and boxes down the steps. AC was cold but EVERY time it stopped running made a loud descending whistling sound. should have complained but we were busy with planned activities and didn't want people coming in and out of room while we were not there. the pull to open and shut the shower door fell off easily. the carpet on the 2nd floor needed vacuuming and was never vacuumed while we were there. however, our room was clean. parking was easy. breakfast was average for this type of hotel. I will not stay here again.

Beds were very comfortable. Only one elevator was working during my stay which is an inconvenience. Biggest gripe, no water pressure! Taking a shower was very frustrating, my goodness travelers want water pressure when they take a shower. It was a dribble at best.
If that’s the way it is all the time I will not stay there again.
