Solomons Inn Resort & Marina

Traveling for business alone, no rooms were available near Lexington Park, Md. Leaving me reluctant, yet desperate, I booked the room. The associate said very little at check in, she motioned her colleague & they both stared at the screen saying nothing. She gave me a room key along with directions to the elevator. Upon entering the room I found only 2 light's with 65-75 watt bulbs leaving the room too dark, furniture is old, worn and had black stains on chair. No cable, leaving me unable to watch live TV. Parking lot had 5 vehicles, and it seemed I was the only guest. Prior to unpacking I had an uneasy feeling, my gut screamed "get out of here". Less than a mile away was a Hilton Garden Inn, their parking lot was full. It seemed most people knew something I didn’t. I decided the alarm in my head couldn't be silenced, I collected my things and left without securing another hotel.The website says the property was renovated: if this is true, my interpretation is similar to putting lipstick on a pig. I want to share my experience to bring attention for all solo traveler's in hopes of protecting another from this unpleasant experience.

The Property is very nice. Our room was very nice and comfortable. We were there on a Monday night in the off Season. Empty parking lot. Good for us. What was strange is that we were not greeted by the staff. We said hello, good morning ect and were ignored by 2 out of 4 staff members. The young woman who checked us in looked nice but didn't know what time breakfast was or if the Pub was even open. We dropped the keys at the front desk with the clerk upon departure. They called an hour latter wanting to know if we will be extended our stay. They didn't seem to know that we already checked out.

Nice clean modern rooms and hotel interior. Nice staff.

Walls are thin! We could clearly hear the folks in the next room talking. They weren’t being loud, just normal conversational speech. We also heard every cough and sneeze from the other neighbors.

Nice and quiet relaxing place to stay. Service was excellent!

Good place to stay for a few days

No instructions on how to work TV. Tub faucet not working well. Minimum toiletries e.g. One skimpy bar of soap. Unrelated shampoos, lotion etc. Looks like leftovers from a previous hotel. Door key erratic. Didn’t work well. Bathroom fan a relic of the past. Room smelled of excessive cleaning fluids. No written information about the hotel. Staff tried to be helpful but most issues out of their control. Hotel has potential but at the moment not ready for prime time.

the hotel renovations appeared to be in the public areas, the guest room 208, was tired needs updates, however room was clean, the location great, the staff was friendly, and service orientated, it was a value for the money, i would return.

We stayed one night it is not a Resort or a Marina

The hotel is in the process of being remodeling. In the remodeled area some things were done well others were very sloppy. If you can get a good price, it may be worth the savings.

Renovated room: mold around shower, shower surround not clean, caulking around sink crumbling, toilet was slow to flush, couch had several stains, floor was dirty wiped with white towel and it was gray/black. Bed was good, tv good, pillows good, towels good.

Our first stay at this property and we were very pleased. It has been recently renovated so everything looked fresh! We had an issue with the passkey/card working properly which was quickly resolved. I did not reserve a waterfront room but requested one on check-in and it was happily provided. Gorgeous view of the marina on a full moon night. It was off season so I certainly wouldn’t expect this mid- season but it was a very nice upgrade. We have grandchildren in the area so we will be frequent guests. Good job staff!

For our first room, the floor was sticky, the couch was stained, the mattress was completely blown out, and the bed frame shrieked every time you moved. My husband and I discussed if staying at this place was a good idea as people yelled in the hallway—and we decided against it at the point when it sounded like somebody was trying to beat down our door. It turns out they were trying to beat down the door across the hallway, but still—this was no longer somewhere we wanted to be. So 10 minutes after checking in we tried to check back out, cancel our reservation, and find somewhere else to go, only to be told it wasn't the hotel's policy to do this kind of cancellation or refund. The guy at the front desk told us we could have another room, or leave and be stuck paying for two different hotels. Note at this point that we weren't trying to get upgrades or amenities or anything for free—we just wanted to leave. We contacted Expedia. Expedia was unable to help, so we ended up with a different room. The beds were better in this one, the hallway was far quieter, and hotel management gave us a couple gift bags of snacks to make up for the trouble, but the hot water went out the second day of our stay & front desk staff heavily implied that it was because we didn't know how to turn the water on properly. Breakfast was solid and the breakfast staff were nice, but the hotel—despite supposedly being freshly renovated—could use some work.

Excellent, helpful service and the room was 95% updated. The tub definitely needs updating and something leaked (we believe it was the shower) from under the floor in the entryway. The view is gorgeous. We will definitely stay again!

Staff was great. Good breakfast. Easy parking and very clean. Pleasantly surprised for not being associated with a big hotel chain.

The hotel is in the process of being renovated. The parts that are completed are lovely. The restaurant and lounge area are still being worked on. The location is wonderful. It’s right on the marina

Staff was nice enough. No soap in my hotel room. All outlets are so loose chargers and things like fridge became constantly disconnected. Extension cords are running lamps. TV has hardly any channels. Breakfast has nothing fresh just all packaged sugar nonsense and sandwiches you can microwave. Keurig coffee. For the price it’s not a very good hotel.

Loved in the morning meeting Jan who was working like crazy cleaning and Kenny who came up to our room to help us out and Colvin our night time Host who was very friendly and helpful checked us in! View of the marina was Awesome 👌 Thank you

Only stayed one night to attend a private cooking class at No Thyme to Cook. The Inn was Super cozy and clean. They even had non dairy milk. The front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. We had a great stay.
