The staff of the DTLA STILE were the best!
We arrived, after all the digital hoops the hotel uses for check in, a bit skeptical. One room for our son and friend was as expected. Our second room, for my husband and myself was ajar, with tv on bed and construction repairs in progress.
I returned to the front desk for help.
Israel (Izzy) was amazing. After many attempts to make the reservation system allow us a new room Izzy successfully managed our room mishap.
Izzy, Chris and Brandon all made our weekend shopping vintage experience feel exceptional and memorable for the right reasons.
Absolutely will return.

The stay was exceptional. The building and location is exquisitely historical and you get a feel like you are back in the 1920's with an elegant, but not overbearing, touch of modernism and high tech accommodation features, and a virtual front desk.
The staff on site were amazing... In fact the word "amazing" doesnt do them justice. They were above and beyond on every occasion. Especially Brandon Young (front desk, security and knowledgeable extraordinaire). Sarah, the coffee master barista who would concuct drinks that are heavenly to the taste buds and Nathalie, the kindest most courteous soul one could meet. I will definitely be coming again.

They didn’t have my room ready until after 7p, which is unacceptable for a one night stay, or any stay really. There was a smoke detector in the room next door that was beeping and could be loudly heard in my room. For the price point, it is not worth it. My friends had a room and their tv stopped working, in-room steamers didn’t work, and it took them over an hour to deliver an iron (with a broken ironing board).

Worst experience of my life! First of all it’s in the worst area possible. You want to know how bad it is? They don’t even have a front desk person…it’s automated and so forget about getting help with any issues you may have. Be ready to be completely on your own, as you won’t receive any help from the staff. Also, I texted them and they never got back to me. I called and it took hours for them to pick up the phone…
Oh and they don’t have any parking. Imagine being in the worst part of town and having to park on the street and walk to the main entrance…
Not one of the reviews I read said anything about these points so I am now letting you know. Don’t make the same mistake I made

Janitorial staff was friendly, but common areas were very dirty. The room was not family friendly; exposed electrical conduits and plumbing piping were definitely a hazard. Also items in the room were not in working condition; sink plug, steamer, and toilet paper holder.

This hotel was definitely one of my more unique hotel experiences, as it was my first time staying somewhere that had automated check-in and check-out procedures. I did not know what to expect going into it, but I was pleasantly surprised by the text messaging of the property and how the clearly they communicated the procedures. As a result, I had no trouble at all accessing my room upon arrival. The room was definitely clean, but there were a couple of minor things about it that stood out. The bed had a futon-style mattress that was a bit firmer than some people might like, although I felt comfortable on it. The other concern was the water pressure in the shower. I had a hard time getting the water warm enough, and the output from the showerhead was not very strong, so using it took a while. Beyond that, though, staying here was a very pleasant experience and a good value for downtown LA.
