Travelodge by Wyndham Seattle By The Space Needle

Run down in an enjoyable way, if you're into urban decay and liminal spaces, or GenX and nostalgic for the hotels of your youth. I got a "built in the seventies, redecorated in the nineties" vibe, and it doesn't look like it's been touched since. The faded gold-plastic framed Picasso reprints everywhere date the property hilariously. It's saggy and creaky and weird and kind of fun, with surprisingly great beds! Sadly, if you're not on the top floor, there will be no sleep for you here. This is beyond hearing a stray step or thump. I could actually hear talking from upstairs, every step they took all night long, and many many other fun things! Yikes! I can only imagine that whatever insulation existent in the 70s is long gone, you can just hear every single thing from all sides, it's intense at night. Worse than any cheap motel I've ever visited and totally unexpected for what feels like a solid building. Crazily, the room doors are on pneumatic hinges that slam the doors shut incredibly hard, and these doors are heavy, we're talking the seventies here! So you'll hear that slamming all night long as well. This is an anything-but-sleep hotel, or for those who can zone out anything. But if you need rest, like I did, staying here will just piss you off. It's a shame, for it's mildewy charm. I'm sure it'll be razed and replaced with a high rise in a matter of 2-5 years, so catch it while you can if that's your thing!

Pictures make it look a lot nice than it is. Room and bathroom seemed gross. Ten minutes after checking in to our room, the fire alarm went off because their laundry machines caught fire and started smoking - four doors down from our room. Whole hallway was filled with smoke. We left for another hotel shortly after that because we didn’t feel safe.

Staff was amazing and sweet prices are affordable, so many places are with in 20 - 30 minutes walking distance ,pike place lots of restaurants, uwajimaia,nice view of the space needle

There were bed bugs in our room and our beds!

I expect a terrible experience everywhere I go, this way I am never disappointed and am generally a happy person. Reading some reviews on Google and the like, I am astonished at some of the complaints. Do some research and adjust some expectations. My trip was a bunch of dudes in town to watch basketball. I reserved 3 rooms. I picked the hotel for location and price. This hotel is a block from the space needle, which is a block from the Pledge. Perfect spot. Price was great compared to the area IMO. We just need a place to unwind after drinking and yelling. We are not using a pool, or any other amenities besides the ice machine. Not sure what kind of view anyone wants staying downtown, I wouldn't expect one for less than twice as much. Check in was easy. We were even able to check in early to one of the rooms so we could take all our stuff inside and not leave it in the car. Elevators worked and it was easy to traverse the property. The grab and go breakfast was appreciated, but not my style. I prefer bloody marys with bacon. Just like every hotel out there, they reserved the cost plus a deposit on my AMEX, it was resolved on checkout as expected. Beds were comfy and the house keeping team did great.

They took a $100 deposit but never refunded it back. Always clean up and keep it tidy so no reason to keep the $100.

close to Space Needle and walkable to downtown core

Convenient location for people trying to hit a lot of tourist attractions. However, the water in our shower was discolored and yellow and the property does seem on the older side. I think that for the price, it could be cleaner and more up to date. Probably would not stay again just because of the lack of clean water.

We stayed here one night, then added a second. Night. Great location, budget friendly, breakfast was a sack with food in the morning great for heading out the door. Over all we en joyed our stay. The bathroom was lasting: shower dooor was broken, the soap and shampoo were also out in the shower and the blow dryer didn’t work.

On site paid parking for reasonable fee. Great location. Older, but clean.

Good location, we left our car at the hotel and walked to Pike Place Market, the Space Needle cone one location. Hotel was clean and offere around the clock coffee in the lobby. Hands breakfast were grab and go. We would stay here again.

The facility itself is dated, but the staff and how you are treated more than make up for how it looks !
