UY Proa Sur Hotel

I was positively surprised! The hotel was located at the end of the tourist strip which meant it was calm at night, it had an indoors pool and a gym. I was lucky to have a room not facing the street so I could see the lighthouse and listen to the waves of the closeby sea at night - pure bliss :) The staff was super friendly and very helpful! Great modern simple design all kept in light colours, which looks fresh and inviting. I'd be happy to stay again!!

We arrived in November 2013 . The Hotel appeared fairly new. The location is great, it is on the main strip of La Paloma. It is very close to a Market a bank (right next door,we did not us the ATM but they did have one ) the light house and and several restaurants. Also to the beaches. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom was quite large . The room are very clean and room service for cleaning was very good. It had a large flat screen T.V. and some movie channels were in english.Very nice breakfast room and the complimentary breakfast was good and pretty much standard for what we had in Buenos Aries and the rest of Uruguay. Most rooms in the hotel have views towards the ocean on both sides of the building. There is a gravel parking lot at the rear of the building. The indoor pool I would not go in because it seemed so over chlorinated . The room the pool was in had a super strong chlorine smell. The is very basic but it has a tree mill and stationary bike of which I used. There is also a small weight system. Wifi was not strong enough to use in the rooms but very good in the lobby. I believe one person on staff spoke english. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel well run and very clean. I would think the newest and probably most modern hotel by a long shot in La Paloma. I would recommend this hotel and stay there again.

We arrived in La Paloma in their winter season. The room was very comfortable and the hotel was close to the beach, the lighthouse and a supermarket. There is a small exercise room and a pool (but we didn't use it). The buffet breakfast was good. The staff were friendly. We speak basic Spanish which was useful as there was no English spoken. Watch out in winter there isn't much to do, but we enjoyed our walks on the beach and wildlife-watching. A truly relaxing time.
