A beautiful hotel that maintains the charm of a hotel built in the 1880’s - yet has had the important areas renovated (bathrooms, lobby, elevators) without losing the charm. Across the street from the Opera House - a center of activity. Hop-on bus starts here also.
Excellent hotel restaurant, I enjoyed each dinner from the terrace overlooking the opera house. Great people watching.
Breakfast is in the courtyard under the trees.
All in all: perfect hotel in a perfect location.

Excellent hotel stay at district 1, nearby to malls and attraction such as vincom centre, opera house, subway, ben than market and post office. 30mins from airport. Luxury shops nearby. Classic Room spacious and upgrade to 2 bedroom suite for family of 4. Only thing is bath tube too high for elderly to climb in to shower.

The Continental Saigon is an older hotel with long history. It was modernized by the owners recently. The structure has the antique flair with its design from high coved ceiling,light fixtures, building design with a noted French style. ( It Matches some of the original old apartments in district one) All before the French but French style. It is walking distance to government buildings and to many top restaurants in District One.
Yes there are many othe much newer Hotels near the Saigon River. But the character and mystic are present.
Many exciting happenings are going on around the hotel. Some can be seen if you dine or enjoy a drink in the Parisan style outside tables and seating.
The Continental Hotel has no pool but the price for sfay is hundreds less than river view newer hotels of familiar brands.
Travel is about location to sights and comforts beyond our private homes. The food in restaurant varies from excellent to bad. The staff is very friendly and helpful for things and places to see.
If your budget is middle level this hotel serves tourist well.

I accidentally booked a window-less room but we were able to be upgraded for extra $20usd a night. The upgraded room was massive and the bed extremely comfortable!! The decor is old fashioned but the room & bathroom were very clean. Breakfast is delicious and staff super friendly.
