I went to Changchun for a holiday weekend, and the Shangri-La was a great base. The hotel is beautiful, the room very comfortable, the breakfast buffet is excellent and the gym is good. I didn’t have a chance to use the pool or spa, or to enjoy the lobby bar, all of which looked very good.
The neighbourhood is lively, there are elegant shops and malls, but also some street food and more local life close by. It’s very close to a subway for exploring further.
The service was very well intentioned, with a couple of minor stumbles: at one point three concierges but nobody noticed me to answer a question; my breakfast table was given away while I was getting more food...but as I say overall good and friendly service.
