I had some expectations coming to the in. And found the property to be beautiful and well-maintained. I still find it puzzling when a big room has a double or queen bed and not a king. My experience with their food was sub-par. I did not have a full dinner so I can not speak to their full menu. I ordered room service of focaccia bread which had whipped butter, and oil and balsamic vinegar. The focaccia was seriously over baked and most of it was inedible. I was very disappointed and although it was just a snack (appetizer), I could only eat about 1/4 of it. For the complimentary breakfast, the same baker seemed to be involved baking the croissants. The were over baked and tough to chew on the bottom. The French toast suffered a similar fate. The bacon was excellently done. I had been told they had the best chef in all of London. I was very disappointed.

Gracious old mansion, renovated as a small hotel with lovely grounds. Beautiful part of "Old South," London, Ontario. Plenty of included parking. Generous included breakfast. This has become our home away from home when visiting London.

We had a few days in town as a couple, and really enjoyed our time at the hotel. We were met with a lovely welcome at reception. Our room was spacious, the beds were so comfortable, and the sheets and pillows were clearly very good quality. The restaurant was very nicely appointed, the wait staff very professional and friendly (thank you Sue, we really felt cared for), and, the food was delicious. The buffet breakfast was hot, flavourful, and fresh. We liked having the Nespresso in the room, and really appreciated that we could also get decaf pucks for it too. The building is filled with beautiful antiques, historic decor, and lots of comfortable nooks and crannies. We did not use the spa, as we were also visiting family, but if it is anything like the rest of the place, it will be beautiful and well run. A great place if you want something different from the usual travellers hotels. Oh, should mention, the area surrounding is very walkable, and there is a nice little village about 1k walk away (.6 of a mile). Parking is plentiful.

This is a charming boutique hotel in a historic neighborhood with old world charm and a beautifully restored dining room. The breakfasts were wonderful and staff were very friendly. We will definitely return.

The Idlewyld Inn is a lovely weekend getaway. The house has a historical appeal and is very clean. The staff are great, and the breakfast is exceptional. The only issue I found is that neither of the windows in the room properly blocked out the outside light, making it a bit difficult to sleep.

Quaint, clean property with easy parking, and cozy, wood-paneled dining room. We had dinner on the earlier side (drinks, salad, entrees all outstanding with great service to match) and took a scenic evening stroll by Thames Parkway. Ended the night with a movie on Netflix (included), and the next morning enjoyed a lovely brunch spread of fresh fruit, pastries, smoked salmon, bacon, eggs, and potatoes. Did not have time to try the spa services, so can't comment there, but maybe next time. Would definitely stay here again!
