Wonderful location for visiting the city

We loved how spacious our room was. The breakfast buffet was great!

Fantastic breakfast, good location, wonderful staff. Sleptvery comfortablely and truly enjoyed the suite setup with separate beds and sitting area. A little dated, but perfectly acceptable. Clean.

We arrived late at night to the hotel but the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. We appreciated the upgrade from our Queen studio to a king size room. The room was clean and spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Great downtown location, 10-minute walking distance to the Halifax Harbor. It had all the amenities that we needed for a comfortable two-night stay. We had an issue with a slow draining bathtub but the maintenance dealt with it promptly. We enjoyed the variety of breakfast items including pancakes, hash browns, scrambled eggs, porridge toast, and fresh fruit. My only negative comment is that you can tell it is an older hotel that could probably do with an update. Overall we had a good stay!

Great value, good breakfast

All the staff were very good

The staff were super friendly and accommodating. The rooms were clean. The only issue with the room was that there was condensation in between the window pains so it obstructed the view. Other than that it was nice and comfy. The rooftop was an awesome feature. Sat out there often. We did the hot tub once, it was ok but the jets were almost nonexistent but not terrible. Overall great location and great experience.

My junior suite was nicely appointed, with big-screen TVs in each room and plenty of outlets for my electronics. The complimentary bottles of water were appreciated, especially since they were resupplied each morning. The complimentary continental breakfast was excellent, with many more choices, hot and cold, than the usual fare. Staff made sure the breakfast area was kept clean and clear of used dishes. Parking was expensive, but in keeping with other Halifax properties.

Clean, spacious room. Can’t beat the location. Easy walk to the Citadel, harbour front, restaurants.

The staff were incredibly helpful, in particular housekeeping. The continental breakfast was also one of the better ones we have encountered. Absolutely would stay again.

Location is excellent

Breakfast wasn't bad, late check-out time was convenient. Location is excellent! Noise was pretty loud though, but it was Saturday night.

I was disappointed in the hotel. It did not match it's online ratings.

We always love to stay at the Cambridge as it's central to downtown Halifax.

Overall, the hotel was decent. The room was clean and comfortable, and all of the staff were kind, professional, and helpful throughout my stay. The location is excellent and likely a major factor in the hotel's pricing. That said, the property feels dated and could benefit from some renovations. My shower drain was partially clogged, which was disappointing. For the price point, I also expected more in terms of room amenities than the basic mini bars of soap and lotion that were provided. The breakfast was another area that fell short. The offerings were largely the same each day—muffins, scrambled eggs, beans, and hash browns—with mini pancakes available on one morning. While the food was acceptable, the variety and quality did not align with what I would expect given the cost of the stay. Overall, the hotel has a lot going for it, particularly its location and staff. However, updating the rooms and enhancing the amenities and breakfast experience would make the price feel much more justified.

The breakfast was great

My daughter and I loved the family suite because the living room and kitchenette were totally separate from the bedroom, so if one of us couldn’t sleep, the light wouldn’t bother the other. Breakfast was plentiful with more variety than most hotels I’ve been in. They even included hummus and veggies in addition to a huge bowl of freshly sliced fruit including watermelon, honeydew, cantaloupe and pineapple, depending on what was available that day. Staff was always friendly and polite. The location was excellent, within walking distance of many downtown attractions although they were down a relatively steep hill. Would definitely stay there again!
