I am extremely disappointed with my recent stay at the Comfort Inn Sudbury (2171 Regent St) and feel compelled to warn other travellers.
Within a short time of being in my room, I began developing numerous bites across my back and legs. After realizing something was wrong, I pulled back the bedding and discovered the comforter and mattress cover were visibly filthy and soiled — clearly not properly cleaned or replaced between guests. It appeared that only the sheets had been changed, which raises serious concerns about hygiene and housekeeping standards.
When I brought this to the attention of the front desk, my concerns were dismissed outright. I was told it “couldn’t have been from there,” despite the obvious condition of the bedding. No meaningful action was taken, no accountability was shown, and no compensation or effort to resolve the situation was offered.
I stayed here only because my husband was hospitalized in Sudbury and I needed somewhere to stay during a difficult time. Instead of support or professionalism, I was met with indifference and denial.
Cleanliness and guest safety should be non-negotiable. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend travellers consider other accommodations.
The Comfort Inn's response to this review is exactly the type of dismissal I was referring to. Bed bug bites were real and were definitely from the hotel room, and more specifically the bedding of the room I rented. How unfortunate guest services did not take my claim seriously. Rest assured I will never stay in this hotel or chain again.
