Nice hotel in a great location. Rooms are small but have everything you need. Air conditioning isn’t very effective

We loved the location, hotel and the room we got. We upgraded to a larger room since we were there for 6 nights. Unfortunately, about 3 days in, there was a sewer smell in the bathroom. We just kept the door closed which helped. We read that was an issue with a few other guests. We still had a wonderful time. Staff was great overall. Beds could use fitted sheets, they always came off.

Lovely welcome on arrival. Room was ready. I asked for a quiet, non smoking,no adjoining door and away from the lifts and that's exactly what I got. Thank you.

On arrival we were advised that we had been upgraded to an Executive room. This meant a King size bed rather than Queen, a fridge with some complimentary soft drinks, a bag of crisps and dressing gowns and slippers. There was also a coffee maker and kettle with a selection of coffee pods and tea bags and reception were always happy to provide additional ones on request. The room only had one chair so one person had to sit on the bed to watch TV. Part way through our stay the air conditioning unit was delivering hot air, despite being set on cold, making the room uncomfortably hot especially at night. We were told it was turned off for the winter. On leaving we were asked if we enjoyed our stay and replied yes until this happened. We were told that part of their green initiative was not to give customers individual control of air conditioning / heating. Also air was being pumped into the room via a vent next to the air con unit, this brought with it smells of cigarette smoke and cooking.

I didn’t have high expectations for a Best Western, but given the reviews and its location in Nice, I thought it would be better. Unfortunately, this hotel fell short in many areas. The room had slanted floors, making it difficult for anyone in a wheelchair to navigate without rolling backward. It felt like a property that had been briefly updated in 2016 after seeing a trend on Instagram, but hasn’t been maintained since. While the room smelled like chemicals when we first walked in, it was still dirty. The enclosed light fixtures were filled with dust and trapped flies, indicating they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. This was a classic case of “great photography, bad room.” Despite being spacious, the room was filled with cheap and worn-out furniture. There was an unmade sofa bed that looked like something out of a motel. The bathroom, while clean, had an old wooden door that didn’t close quietly—you had to slam it shut. The service at the front desk was also disappointing. The staff was standoffish and didn’t mention any of our Hotels.com VIP benefits, such as a free room upgrade, late checkout, or the complimentary cocktail. We were told to wait five minutes for our room to be ready, but it took 20 minutes. The delay seemed to be because the staff didn’t want to hold our bags. Overall, I wouldn’t stay here again. The pictures are misleading and don’t reflect the actual condition of the rooms in 2024. I’d recommend checking authentic travel blogs for honest reviews.

Old dirty hotel. Our bathroom smelt like sewage. After complaining they came and sprayed it. In 2 hours later it smelled again. Novelty disgusting. Shower is all scratched and old. Never stay here again.

The staff were clearly very friendly and effecient and we were all made to feel welcome. It was a lovely gesture to receive a little gift during check out - one to my wife and daughter. It was also pleasing to receive a gift bag for daughter during our first nights stay. Also complementary food/drinks where placed in our fridge. Beds where comfortable. Although the rooms were clean, further attention was required from the staff i.e. 2 bathrobes where provided rather than the 3 (three guests); this was quickly resolved when I spoke to staff at reception (who was very accommodating). The shower gel pump was not working, restocking shampoo and conditioner was also an area that needed addressing (I should not be asking for a replacement), It's the finer detail of our stay that needed fine-tuning. A great location, good atmosphere by all the staff. Overall, a very comforting stay that we thoroughly enjoyed.

Great experience staying with my family here in Nice for 4 days. Clean, very walkable and central location. Close to the main train station, the beach and many restaurants. Will come back again.

Location was fantastic and very close to the Jean Medicin tram station on the airport line, and to the shopping area and old town. The welcome drinks and bottle of appreciated and the complimentary prosecco was much appreciated!! Staff were all helpful and friendly. Room was clean overall, however the toilet smelled. Not from the room but the strong smell was coming from the plumbing. But overall we enjoyed our stay here.
