The hotel is undeniably grand and makes a strong first impression. Unfortunately, I experienced a few issues during my stay. There were no tea or coffee-making facilities in the room. As an early riser (I’m usually awake by 5am), I would have really appreciated being able to make my own coffee. Instead, I had to wait two hours and cross the road to Starbucks each morning. Breakfast runs from 7:00am to 10:30am and only offers filtered coffee, which, sadly, wasn’t very good. The breakfast overall was disappointing — on two consecutive days there wasn’t even any butter available for toast. There’s also no outdoor space to relax in the evening and enjoy some fresh air. While there is a lounge area, it has no windows, which makes it feel quite enclosed. That said, the staff were extremely helpful throughout my stay, especially Lucia, who was fantastic. The location also wasn’t ideal for what we wanted to explore. Overall, while the hotel is impressive in appearance and has lovely staff, I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

Booked by travel agent so no idea class of room re amenities. Room was small and you need access to a QR code to discover they even charge for a bottle of water! TV channel access was difficult. Comfortable bed and quiet so main thing. Hot breakfast offering obviously not designed for the tourist guests for which the hotel caters. Luggage storage good. Lifts good and public areas impressive. Location was safe and handy for the 'theatre district' road plus a Dia supermarket and affordable restaurants.

A very tired but central hotel, making a living from its name. Needs a refurb, gym is poor with no rowing machine or sanitising wipes, though they do have attached toilets and showers. The beds are comfortable and food/drink prices reasonable. The showers are crazy good! Fantastic period features desperately need refurbishment, that would really lift this building.

Really appreciate the female receptionist with glasses who was working 9am 12/25! After 27 hours flying and arriving Christmas morning, she let us check in early. We were able to get a great nap and cleaned up before meeting our family for a wonderful Christmas luncheon. Thank you for helping us!

Location is great, staff is great, shower is amazing. There is no complimentary water in the room. They said I can drink tap water, us safe. The breakfast options are very limited. Cheese, ham, bread, fruits , no green vegetables, no boiled egg, no omelet station , its what I use to have.
