The property itself is beautiful, living up to its reputation as a historic landmark in the city. The views are absolutely stunning, making it a wonderful spot to take in the scenery. The room was very comfortable, and I particularly appreciated the high-quality bedding—the comforter and mattress made for an excellent night's sleep. However, I did encounter a frustration regarding the housekeeping service. My room cleaning was skipped one day, and upon inquiring, I was informed that housekeeping is not an automatic daily service and must be requested. This was unexpected, as I’ve typically found full-service hotels to provide daily housekeeping by default.

Beautiful hotel, located in a historic building, combining traditional look and feel with modern amenities. Exceptionally well maintained, luxurious interior, with great attention to detail. Fantastic staff, courteous, attentive. Labrador Hendrix is the best VP of Guest Relations! I only wish food and drinks were more reasonably priced. Paying $8 for a cup of tea made with a prepackaged teabag or $40 for a hamburger is absurd.

We had a blast

I had high expectations for my stay at Fairmont, but unfortunately it was one of the worst nights I’ve had in a hotel. Throughout the night, there was a loud, recurring noise that woke me up three separate times. Just when I thought it was finally over, the same noise happened again early in the morning. As a result, I barely got any sleep. I reported the issue to the front desk, but unfortunately nothing was done to resolve it, and the disturbance continued. It was extremely disappointing that my complaint did not lead to any effective action. When staying at a luxury hotel like Fairmont, guests expect a quiet and comfortable environment. Losing an entire night’s sleep due to a recurring noise—and receiving no meaningful solution after reporting it—is simply unacceptable. I sincerely hope the hotel investigates the source of the noise and improves its response to guest complaints so future guests don’t have the same experience.

Much improved there seems to be new staff that have trained properly they are courteous and professional.

We had dinner out on the patio with such a great view of the river valley. Meal was excellent. The staff all were friendly, helpful and welcoming. From the bell hop to the front desk checkin and the restaurant staff.

This hotel never disappoints. The location downtown overlooking the river valley is spectacular, the rooms are without a doubt fit for royalty and the service is top notch. Definitely the best way to pamper yourself in Edmonton.

From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make my son’s stay unforgettable as he celebrated both his high school graduation and his acceptance as a Junior Forest Ranger. You could tell that so much thought, care, and time went into the gifts and surprises they prepared for him in our upgraded river view room. They created a beautiful, personalized “Congratulations Ranger” poster signed by staff, along with a water bottle, keychain, fruit, nuts, granola bars, bottled water, and even a complimentary “Forest Ranger’s Breakfast for Two.” The breakfast cards were printed with a special forest ranger theme and attached to pine tree branches — such a creative and meaningful touch! My son was genuinely surprised and beyond grateful. These weren’t just gifts; they were thoughtful gestures that made him feel seen, celebrated, and proud of his accomplishments. I want to sincerely thank every staff member who helped make this happen. It may be a bit trickier to get to, but it is 100% worth it. The hotel is beautiful and historic, the breakfast was delicious, the view from the garden is exceptional, but the people here are what make this place truly special.

We stayed on the golf floor. Everything was wonderful - huge props for the young lady who cleaned and made it extra cozy.

Everything was great and top notch! Mariam from Front Dest was great and sweet! Was a great experience overall, already want to stay there again, but the hotel is fully booked 😅 Everyone was nice and they brought a small treat for my wife’s birthday.

Really really poor customer service. And the food we ordered was undercooked. We would expect much better from the Fairmont.
