The hotel itself is quite a historic building and I do like the atmosphere. The bathroom was modern and shower very good. However, no toilet roll holder and soap/shampoo dispensers not working. Food was ok, nothing spectacular. Though my server was really pleasant and friendly. Down side was the lift was broken and i had to haul baggage up stairs with no offer of help from reception. The heating in the room was not working and windows were not closing, which meant it was cold (even with a portable heater)

Had a wonderful stay at the Old Ground Hotel in Ennis. From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and well looked after. The hotel is full of character, beautifully maintained, and the service was warm, professional, and attentive throughout. The absolute highlight of our stay was the resident cat—incredibly friendly and affectionate, always ready for a cuddle. It added such a special, heart-warming touch to an already lovely experience. A charming hotel with exceptional hospitality (and the sweetest furry host!). Would happily return and highly recommend it.

There was a rim of dust in the rooms along the walls No facility for guests to sit have a drink and chat The bar was. Used for food and it was busy as food was good But no option to book in bar but.there was for some . Not for anyone under 65 No entertainment Not enough seats in foyer and what was there was grubby Car park excelence Near to shops Tu he staff were very young and not trained Stressful one felt unwanted Near to shops

Just brilliant

The staff at The Old Ground Hotel were simply amazing. The most wonderful hospitality was granted to us and it stands out in my experience across any hotel I’ve stayed in, in a long time. In fact I picked The Old Ground as I had stayed here for a family reunion exactly ten years ago. We arrived late and then could not drive through Ennis due to diversions. The desk staff not only guided us in through the town to their car park in real time, but managed to get us a very last minute and late evening table for 4 in their bistro, accommodating a tired and hungry family who were making a pit stop before flying from SNN the next am. The team made check in easy. Made sure we got all we needed at dinner including off menu options and then made sure we got checked in and up to our rooms. Similarly the next morning, a delicious breakfast, warm greetings and wonderful service! Outstanding staff and experience. We can’t stop talking about it. Thank you.

The property is in an excellent location. The grounds and rooms are immaculate and bey. The attached restaurant is delicious. The staff could not have been more helpful..the rooms are BEAUTIFUL!

Our room smelled like mildew and the bathroom didn’t seem super clean. Our room was directly on the parking lot.
