Love the location

Location was good. Staff very nice. However, I felt like I was being "nickel and dimed" ... charge for parking, Charge for water in the room, ... most US hotels of this caliber (mid range) offer free parking and include some form of breakfast.

Passed on breakfast because it didn’t look great and there were other places near by to eat.

The property was very clean. The location was nice. We ended up walking to the capital. The staff were also incredibly nice. The breakfast was good, worth the additional fee if you add it to your room at the time of booking.

I've stayed at DoubleTree Olympia several times over the years. It's a very reliable, comfortable hotel with easy access to Percival Landing (Puget Sound), good restaurants and historic downtown Olympia. Understandably, the hotel is in process of refurbishing but it's still in good condition overall and clean. I look forward to seeing the 'new' hotel.

Shower desperately needs cleaning. Seeing the orange mildew on the grout was not pleasing. In addition, who installs glass for the shower & does not seal it off, leaving a gap between the wall & glass. Water was puddled on the floor causing a safety hazard, even with a towel on the floor.

Excellent staff, room was clean. Did not like that I had absolutely no view other than a dirty roof top. The guest above us were constantly noisy walking, you could hear their steps day and night. The parking was sometimes limited on weekends.

This hotel is in a good neighborhood to access area shops and restaurants and it’s near the marina. The hotel itself, however, was not that impressive. They’re in the middle of updating rooms and I’m not sure if ours was on the list. We paid for a suite and there was no door between the bedroom and the rest of the unit. This defeated the purpose of having a suite for us as there was no sound barrier. Really weird room layout. Also got weary of them nickel and diming us if we weren’t Hilton Honors members. Don’t charge us for WiFi and a bottle of water. Just provide those services to all your guests and offer other perks as Honors members. I think this hotel thinks it’s more than it actually is.

We were in town for my GrandDaughters softball tournament so I booked 2 rooms. My Daughter and GrandDaughter had to park on the street as there wasn’t ample parking. There was also people who approached our group asking uncomfortable questions leaving us all not feeling safe. Breakfast was not ready at the time the hotel said it would be and we were counting on this to save a stop and fuel the girls with protein before their game. Only cereal and they wanted to charge full price. The bed was the only good thing about our stay.

Nice people at front desk, bar/restaurant is great, hotel should consider free water and coffee to show some type of courtesy for the basics

We stayed 2 nights. The hotel didn’t have the Mariners as an option to watch in the room. Kinda a bummer since it’s our home baseball team. Last night we had to park on the street bc there was no parking left in the parking lot. Not the hotel’s fault, but there was a few homeless sleeping across the street from the hotel. Breakfast was great and staff very helpful and friendly.

Great place

Overall a very nice experience. Check-in was cheerful and efficient, room was clean, bed very comfortable. Bathroom shower set-up a bit odd, have to step into the shower to turn it on and get a splash of cold water. A few sketchy characters in the neighborhood in the morning but that isn't really the hotel's fault and not their problem.

Great location!

Worst service!! I'd never recommend this hotel. Our thermostat didn't work and I woke up freezing cold at night. I couldn't get the heater to turn on. The worst part is that even though I filed for a maintenance ticket with the front desk as I checked out, they would not give a partial refund at all through Expedia. Worst hotel!!
