Great hotel. Directly opposite Mainz Hbf. Room was very clean and comfortable. We scored a little balcony and absolutely thrilled about it😁. Would stay again and recommend.

Standards not up to expectations (based on enthusiastic reviews and hype). An acceptable hotel, no more no less. On plus side: location excellent for quick access to main railway station, and front desk guy was very friendly and helpful. On minus side, area is rough, room badly needed updating and it was not particularly clean. Good to have a small fridge (mini-bar type) and iron/ironing board was available on request. But overall, a disappointment and not recommended unless just for overnight to catch early train.

Perfect for my needs (a five-day base in a historic city with 2 or 3 easy day trips by train). Very good value and no more than 100 yards or so from the station. Comfortable room and good breakfast.

Hammer is right across from the train station and and easy walk to the Rhein and Alt town. The breakfast is excellent but expensive. We loved the sauna. Dining options are everywhere nearby. The staff was really lovely and nice. Rooms are clean, well accommodated, just wish they had smart TVs. We'd stay again.

We've stayed at Hotel Hammer several times... and we will keep going back! An easy train ride from Frankfurt Airport and the hotel is directly across the street from the train station. We get greeted warmly every visit and much of the staff now feels like family. The rooms are comfortable and very quiet with special windows to reduce the noise. Breakfast is very nice with a coffee machine so you can make your own latte or cappuccino!

Pros: Good location across the main train station. Front desk was nice and helped us store luggage when we arrived in the morning before check-in time. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Cons: Bathroom had a funky smell and mattress was not very comfortable.

Perfect location, just right across the plaza from the train station and yet we never heard any noise from the nearness. So handy as a perfect starting point no matter what direction our plans were taking us, easy walk to the Old Town area and the river front just beyond, maybe 15 & 20 min respectfully at a leisurely pace. Wouldn't even consider anywhere else, the staff was beyond kind and gracious, loved our stay.

We were stationed in Mainz with military in 1980's. This was a first trip back. Great to stay just across from main train station. Lots of memories. Good location to stay, highly recommended. Staff were friendly and went out of their was to help us get to where we wanted to go.
