We had a great time at the Cliff Bay! We absolutely enjoyed every minute of our stay there. From a birthday celebration at Avista restaurant to our rooms' comfort and stunning views to delicious buffet breakfast every morning to spending time at the pool. No little detail was spared and the quality of service was superb. The staff made sure we had a great time and had everything we needed. We will definitely stay at this property again when we come back to Madeira. Thank you for your hospitality!

Pure luxury in a fantastic location for exploring Funchal. Couldn't fault the hotel, everything was exquisite. We booked a superior room which meant we had a few extra perks (like having a separate breakfast restaurant with table service to name one) and the seam view balcony was huge. Overall we fully recommend the Cliff Bay

This is an excellent hotel. We had an issue with our passports and they went above and beyond anything that could be expected to resolve it for us. You won't be disappointed staying here.

Our week-long stay at The Cliff Bay Hotel in Funchal was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations. Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious and plentiful breakfast while overlooking the hotel’s lush gardens and stunning ocean views. The staff were consistently warm, attentive, and helpful throughout our stay, and our room was impeccably clean with a thoughtful turn-down service every evening. We also loved the entertainment offered on most nights, especially the fantastic jazz performances and the authentic regional dancers and singers, which added such a special local touch to the experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Funchal.

It was disappointing that we were unable to book for the main Rose Garden restaurant for some evening meals owing to demand

The room was lovely with great view of Funchal Harbour. Room service breakfast every morning sitting on balcony was extremely relaxing. This was our second stay and we'll be back. Special mention and applause to chef and staff at Blue Lagoon restaurant on site by the pool.

This was possibly our best hotel experience ever. It was my husband's 50th birthday and management helped to make it truly special.The hotel room and facilities were stunning. The Cliff Bay is very well located, on a beautiful bay a few minutes walk away from the port area (I would recommend this distance away from the cruise ships). We enjoyed a couple of meals from room service (best burger ever...and we've tried many). On the opposite side of the scale, the Il Gallo D'Oro Michelin experience was extraordinary...food art and superb service. The hotel is in perfect condition and manages to be elegant and contemporary and yet have charm and feel warm. I would definitely recommend this hotel to others and consider returning. An unforgettable stay.
