The restaurant bar was in construction and the pool was closed for the season.

Nice room

The room was not huge but quite well-equipped. Photos did not show that there was an induction hot-plate with pans, very useful. There was a lot of smoking around the hotel with no attention paid to the 7 metre law. The staff could have been more proactive about this but clearly cater to an Asian clientele that is used to smoking right outside doorways. As a result be prepared to hold your nose entering the property and wading through cigarette butts at the side entrances. In addition, it is clear that some suites are rented out to people on social assistance. At first we thought having the Galloping Goose trail right outside our room was an advantage however we quickly realized it wasn't since it is essentially a homeless camp. Our toilet plugged up for no apparent reason, however staff were quick to remedy the problem.

lightening was poor, the elevator was not working all the time we were there, restaurant on site wanted $4.40 for a can of pop which was $1.75 in vending machine.

I would like to have known that the elevator was out of order so I could have gotten another room with no stairs or change hotels with no charge as my mom has an extremely hard time with stairs. The sink didnt have a tea towel, the pool was very cold not heated as usual, the kitchen cabinet was in need of having a screw tightened and the handle in the bath tub was loose. Sorry I have to give a slightly bad review.

The outside of the property was slightly run down. The hallways were not really clean and smelled. The room itself seemed spotless. The elevators were not working. The front staff were exceptionally helpful and nice. They said the place was undergoing a renovation. Maybe in a few months it will be much better.

This is a good hotel. It was likely a great hotel 20 years ago. There was a lot of the property that was non functioning properly: elevators, card locks, air conditioners. It was actively under repairs with crews on the properly and hopefully it will improve. I will certainly check before I book again.

No elevator luggage difficult and only one way in thru lobby doors in room are unbalanced and will hit you in the back parking limited nice soaps and lotions quiet and good beds

The kitchenette was stocked with plates and cutlery as well as a hot plate, pot and pan! They packed a lot of amenities into the room. The elevator was being renovated so we had to carry our things one floor down but the staff quickly offered to help.

We've stayed at the Red Lion I believe 3 times now and every time it's been a wonderful stay. It's a 5-10 minute quick bus down into the heart of downtown or a 20 ish minute walk depending on speed down as well. It's such a good location and a wonderful price for the amenities nearby. The Jade Garden restaurant downstairs is wonderful and always a treat after a long day adventuring. Staff is wonderful and helpful!

Good location and kitchen was adaquate. It would have been great if breakfast was included.

The room was clean, but the elevator didn't work. The kitchenette is simple and elemental.
