Firstly what a prefect hotel for discovering York, only 5 minutes walk to town, the hotel is well maintained and the tapas menu and presentation is excellent, you would struggle to find standard higher to be honest! The breakfast is good and well presented, down point if picky, not consistent first day two rashers of bacon , second day one? Sausages didn’t seem over cooked,I should have said something, the room really nice and clean, was asked if I would like it refreshed while I was out,only find nothing had happened when I returned? Maybe they just forgot to tell housekeeping? Got to say as a seasoned traveller the hotel still out scores many at a similar price ..

Lovely hotel created from several historic buildings into a modern facility. Very pleasant reception and lounge area with bar. The rooms were clean and to a high standard, roomy and with a good shower room. There is a lot of interesting artwork throughout. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. We booked two rooms. Room servicing is only on request, we asked our rooms to be made up each day, sadly our friends room was not properly made up on arrival and servicing of the rooms was a bit hit and miss. We had asked for rooms in a quiet area and our request was honoured. Breakfast was excellent. A minor gripe would be the number of emails received before the stay concerning pre-information on things like breakfast time and pre-booking in and pre-checkout. The location is excellent for walking into central York and in a quiet area. Despite the minor issues with our rooms we would recommend the hotel as a good place to stay.

I'm a regular stayer at Middletons. It is great for a business overnight. Parking is on-site and it is very convenient for the city centre. Rooms are lovely as are staff. It always has a nice relaxed cosy vibe.

Staff lovely breakfast great. Not very clean and pillow cases had to be changed. Bathroom the smallest I’ve ever had. Didn’t even have a proper door and room overlooked car park barrier.

Great "boutique" hotel - and not super expensive - easy walk from the train station (and as an added bonus, close to the river and inside the city walls). Rooms were clean and very quiet. Had dinner and breakfast in the restaurant (and as a bit of an aficionado, perhaps the best fish and chips I have ever had). I had no idea York had so much to do - if you wanted to explore in depth, you could easily spend a week! Walking the walls alone, and taking it all in, could easily take a half day, and the Minster is worth at least a half day (and much longer if you want to soak it all in). Over 5+ rating for the hotel, the restaurant and the city itself, as well as the hotel's location. Will definitely stay here in future if the opportunity presents itself.

Could not fault anything at the Middletons Hotel. The staff are all amazing and nothing is too much trouble. Room very comfortable and clean.

Great location to see York.

Room smelt fusty, and was dark, very little natural light. Disappointed I pointed it out to Reception , they couldn;t move me because the Hotel was full and no compensation offered.

The stay here was perfect. The room was large and lovely. The staff were helpful and very inviting. We would recommend anyone heading to York stay here.

The Landscaping was beautiful and gave the hotel a relaxing look. Amazing staff and super clean rooms. Plenty of room. Large breakfast menu. Highly recommend!!!

I liked the history of the property, the location, the bar and dining facilities and the general layout was interesting with additional buildings connected by walkways. The staff were very helpful and polite. I would definitely use this hotel again.

The staff were wonderful, after a dreadul experience with expedia for another booking that this getaway replaced, we talked of our experience and Phillipa kindly gave us a round of drinks on the house! The property is beautiful and in a prime location, but still serene enough to feel off the beaten track (but rodiculously close to a city wall). We were in the smallest room on offer, but the beds was still very comfortable and the room has a really neatly designed vanity table, which will be a dream for any individuals looking to do make up and straighten hair (complete with straightening plate!) The breakfasts are exquisite, you will be sad to book without! The dinners were equally well received, I had a mushroom tagliatelle that could have easily fed two, whilst my partner really enjoyed his propper, rustic chips on his fish and chips. Would highly recommend if looking to stay in York!

Well there cosy and there cosy my like a cell 35 car parking space for 56 room so could be disappointed more than happy to take your money for spot that's not even available and if do manage to secure one no guarantee when you return Car park close by 25.50 for day On plus side breakfast was really good all fresh prepared to order

Bit of a whirlwind visit, but we enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and well appointed, the staff were very pleasant and helfpul, and the breakfast was excellent.
